Yes, the money is available now.

The $750 comes from the Individual Assistance Funds.

Yes.

Throughout the Southeast, FEMA has already helped thousands of Hurricane Helene survivors jumpstart their recoveries with more than $45 million in flexible, upfront funding.

Those are real people who belong to a community Facebook group that I am a member of. The community was one of the hardest hit in North Carolina. The people that live there have no reason to lie. Local news media in the state has also been reporting people have been receiving the money for over a week now.
Thanks for the clarifications. Still not seeing anything in the news about the money being distributed.

It is critical that Congress ensures that no critical disaster programs, such as the SBA disaster loan program, run out of funding during the Congressional Recess period.

The response from the Republican house leader:

We wouldn’t even conceivably have the request ready before we get back in November, There’s no necessity for Congress to come back.” -- Speaker of the House Mike Johnson
The Small Business Administration, which provides low-interest loans to millions of disaster survivors, is set to run out of funding for hurricane victims within days, SBA Administrator Isabel Casillas Guzman told Congress late Thursday, as officials tally the extent of Hurricane Milton’s damage on the heels of Helene.

If the agency runs out of funding, Guzman said it would continue processing loan applications up to the point of payment “so that we are poised to disburse funds quickly once Congress provides additional funds.”

While touring Hurricane Helene damage in North Carolina on Wednesday, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said the SBA “has plenty of money right now to serve the immediate needs” and that Congress would prioritize additional disaster relief money when it returns from recess on Nov. 12, after Election Day.

Even though states across the southeastern U.S. are still reeling from Hurricane Helene's destructive path, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas warned FEMA "does not have the funds" to get through hurricane season. On "Fox & Friends First" Thursday, Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody shredded the secretary over the comments, pointing out the more than $1 billion spent on migrants.
In fact, the Florida AG doesn't want you to know that the funding for FEMA was approved by the Republican House of Representatives. If he thinks it was inadequate, maybe he should start by cleaning his own house.

And several people have already debunked the "Biden diverted FEMA funding for illegal aliens" Trump did that.

Yes, the Trump administration diverted FEMA disaster relief funds

But Biden didn't. If it matters to you that Trump turned his back on Americans caught in disasters, you don't have to vote for him.

If.

Are you aware that Gov. DeSantis and other leaders and the agencies in Florida are well equipped by their own state funding & experiences to handle disaster relief? Are you aware that Gov. DeSantis is grateful for the assistance from FEMA but at the same time recognizes that Floridians are better able to help Floridians than is the federal government? Also, please stop posting the falsehoods about President Trump turning his back on Americans caught in disasters.

If this is so, why did Florida ask for help from the federal government.

Dear President Biden,

We write in support of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ request for an Expedited Major Disaster
Declaration for the state of Florida as a result of Hurricane Milton, which made landfall near Siesta Key
on October 9th as a powerful Category 3 hurricane.

Given the severity of the storm, as evidenced by the at least 16 reported deaths and still untold damages
wrought by Hurricane Milton on peoples’ homes, businesses and livelihoods, we urge your immediate
consideration of a Major Disaster Declaration, which would provide essential federal resources to help
our state respond and recover to the catastrophic damages caused by this devastating storm. The full
support of the federal government is critical in helping save lives and getting our communities and
constituents back on their feet.

Which is a legally separate account that does not directly impact the funds in the Disaster Relief Fund.

Disasters are often handled successfully at the state and local levels with a concerted effort of government agencies, volunteers, and charities. They are most familiar with the area affected and the first to respond. Unfortunately, many disasters are too large to be handled at the state and local level, and federal assistance is required. Of course, Governor DeSantis would be grateful for assistance from FEMA following a hurricane.

Also, please stop posting the falsehoods about President Trump turning his back on Americans caught in disasters.
99 percent of Hurricane Matthew aid requested by NC denied by Trump administration

The State of North Carolina requested $929 million from the federal government to help with costs associated with Hurricane Matthew, but the state will be receiving far less than that, according to an announcement by Gov. Roy Cooper.

North Carolina will receive only $6.1 million from the Trump administration. That's 99 percent less than the requested amount.

The $929 million requested would have been used to "help communities and families fix homes, repair businesses and recover from the historic flooding," Cooper said.

"Families across Eastern North Carolina need help to rebuild and recover, and it is an incredible failure by the Trump Administration and Congressional leaders to turn their backs," said Cooper said in a statement released to the press. "Matthew was a historic storm and we are still working every day to help families return home and rebuild their communities. North Carolinians affected by this storm cannot be ignored by the Trump Administration and Congressional leadership, and I will continue to work with our Congressional delegation to get North Carolina residents affected by the storm the help they deserve."

The story about the NC hurricane in 2017 is 7 years old. After that story, I am sure that Congress approved enough money for NC hurricane Matthew disaster relief and that Trump signed off on it. I don't believe that you are posting all of the relevant facts.

A taxpayer dollar is a taxpayer dollar

Then every dollar spent on anything is blocking spending on anything else. Why not state that spending on the space station reduces funding available for disaster relief, or money spent on border security, or money spent on the F35, or on forest management, or on airport screening, etc.?

The useless "wall" (breached over 3,000 times according to the Border Patrol) cost more than that alone. C'mon.

On the same day in May 2019, the Army Corps of Engineers awarded a pair of contracts worth $788 million to replace 83 miles of fence along the southwest border.

The projects were slated to be completed in January 2020, the Corps said then. Four months into this year, however, the government increased the value of the contracts by more than $1 billion, without the benefit of competitive bidding designed to keep costs low to taxpayers.

Within a year of the initial award, the value of the two contracts had more than tripled, to over $3 billion, even though the length of the fence the companies were building had only grown by 62%, to 135 miles. The money is coming from military counter-narcotics funding.

Completely wasted effort and funds. Oh, but don't worry, Trump says Mexico is going to pay for it. You can trust him on that. (WFTH-I)

After that article was written in 2020, millions upon millions of illegal immigrants have been allowed by the Democratic Party, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and DHS Secretary Mayorkas into the USA.

Are you aware that Gov. DeSantis and other leaders and the agencies in Florida are well equipped by their own state funding & experiences to handle disaster relief?
So maybe he needs to tell his own party to stop begging for Federal help?

Florida Republican who voted against a stopgap spending bill that recently replenished the Federal Emergency Management Agency's disaster relief fund has called for federal aid as Florida braces for the arrival of Hurricane Milton.

"We have a category 5 hurricane headed right to Pinellas, and @KamalaHarris is taking this time to attack @GovRonDeSantis?" Rep. Anna Paulina Luna wrote on X, formerly Twitter, on Monday night. "Cut the c***. We need FEMA DOLLARS FREE'D UP. ALL ASSETS. STOP ATTACKING RON AND DO YOUR JOB! @VP."

Luna, an ally of former president and Republican nominee Donald Trump, was among a hundred Republican lawmakers who voted against a stopgap spending bill that recently replenished FEMA's disaster relief fund.

Also, please stop posting the falsehoods about President Trump turning his back on Americans caught in disasters.
He should first publicly call on his followers to stop threatening FEMA workers who are trying to help Americans caught in disasters. That would be a change for the good. But he's going to continue to turn his back on them.

However, that same day, Trump said otherwise at a Michigan rally while talking about how President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have responded to the devastation that Hurricane Helene caused in several southeastern states.

“[T]here’s nobody that’s handled a hurricane or storm worse than what they are doing right now,” Trump said. “Kamala spent all her FEMA money, billions of dollars, on housing for illegal migrants, many of whom should not be in our country.”

He went on to claim in his remarks that the administration was not able to provide hurricane relief to affected states and residents because they “stole the FEMA money, just like they stole it from a bank, so they could give it to their illegal immigrants that they want to have vote for them this season.”

Even after FEMA and news organizations had corrected Trump’s misinformation, he continued to make similar claims in public appearances. For instance, in an Oct. 4 town hall in North Carolina, one of the hardest hit states, Trump said that the federal government cannot help residents there because “we’re missing a billion dollars they gave … to the migrants that came in and now we don’t have the money.”

To be clear, federal law prohibits noncitizens from legally voting in federal elections, and there’s no evidence any disaster relief money is “missing.”

Trump's False Claim of Stolen Disaster Relief Funds - FactCheck.org

“We know that significant misinformation online contributes to threats against response workers on the ground, and the safety of responders must be a priority,” Gov. Roy Cooper said in a statement. “At my direction, the North Carolina Department of Public Safety (which includes the highway patrol) is helping partners like FEMA to coordinate with law enforcement to ensure their safety and security as they continue their important work.”

Some FEMA operations were also paused Sunday in Ashe County, near the borders of Tennessee and Virginia, out of an abundance of caution, Sheriff B. Phil Howell said on Facebook. This included in-person applications for aid in at least two locations “due to threats occurring in some counties,” according to the county’s emergency management office. Those locations reopened Monday, the sheriff and emergency management office announced.

Howell urged residents to “stay calm and steady during our recovery, help folks and please don’t stir the pot.”

You have cherry picked my post from which I also clearly stated that Governor DeSantis and Floridians do want and will accept the FEMA disaster relief money that is due to any state suffering in a federal disaster area. Please don't cherry pick my posts in an attempt to try to discuss liberals talking points.

The "cherry picking" was claiming that DeSantis was prepared for the disaster, while ignoring that DeSantis' people were whining about wanting more FEMA help.
