My comments have nothing to do with real estate speculation. Building just costs money. Construction is one of the few (maybe the only?) industries that hasn’t seen any productivity growth in the last couple decades. Maybe there are gains to be had with modular or pre-fab construction, but the standard method of stick building onsite is just going to get more expensive.Well, be careful what you say! Politicians are supposed to meet our demands, and if you convince everyone out of building potentially 3 million houses, and thus, dropping prices by flooding the market, then we can be stuck with 400k plus housing prices for good.
...But maybe we have some real estate people here, who don't want home prices being lowered. I'm not one of those people, though.
...And our kids should be able to afford houses for their families, without having to invite in random strangers as room mates to live with in order to make the payment.
