I think you'll be a bit surprised...
There's this false teacher on a social media website I'm on. The false teaching greatly bothers me. I had been thinking about her.
And then, when I read 1 Timothy 6 yesterday, this stood out to me:
1 Timothy 6:3-4 AMP:
"If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine and teaching which is in agreement with godliness (personal integrity, upright behavior), he is conceited and woefully ignorant [understanding nothing]. He has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words..."
I added the boldness on the things that popped out and I thought of this evil woman. That is her description.
It made me feel like God was siding with me, and that he agrees that her false teaching is wrong.

It's easy to get depressed and to feel despair if we lose sight of the bigger picture. You seemed to be much more content and at peace when you were focused on your personal devotions and spiritual life. If you find yourself slipping back into despair, just remind yourself of what you were doing that gave you peace. Return to that. The Christian life is often a battle and you can only make it through the tough stages by holding fast to the truth and focusing on God. I've found in my own life that I can feel very defeated and anxious whenever I focus too much on this life.Not good. I'm going to fall back into despair.
I'm rarely active on the forum now, but I felt like posting to give you some encouragement. Hope you have had a good Easter. Remember, Christ rose to give us everlasting life and whatever sorrows, disappointments, or unfulfilled dreams you may have in life, they will be completely erased in the next life. Christ also promised us that if we are faithful, we will be rewarded in the next. We will reign with Christ. Focus on that. It will help to soften the disappointment you are feeling.
