BEL AIR, Md. (AP) — A fugitive from El Salvador was convicted Monday in the 2023 slaying of a Maryland woman who was attacked while exercising on a popular hiking trail northeast of Baltimore.

Prosecutors alleged that Victor Martinez-Hernandez, 24, was carrying out a planned attack when he grabbed Rachel Morin off the trail, bashed her head against nearby rocks, raped her and concealed her body in a drainage culvert. Their case hinged on DNA evidence connecting him to the crime.

A jury found Martinez-Hernandez guilty of first-degree murder and first-degree rape, among other offenses, according to Randolph Rice, an attorney representing Morin’s relatives.

“The Morin family is incredibly relieved that justice was served today,” Rice said in a statement.

Martinez-Hernandez was accused of entering the United States illegally after allegedly killing another woman in his home country. Authorities also linked him to a 2023 home invasion in Los Angeles.
These people have got to go.

Doesn't make the initial statement any less racist.
So it is now racist to demand that illegal immigrants who commit rape and murder should be deported? Is it now the liberal position to advocate for rapists, murders, human traffickers, and drug dealers?

No. It is racist to demand every illegal immigrant to be deported because of the actions of one.

That is not what I said. But yes, I think they all need to be deported. But perhaps the non-violent ones may still have the opportunity to try going through the legal process.

Sorry but the constitution does not say if you've been violent ignore due process. That would require a new amendment.

But, you see, without due process, how do we know who is violent and who has been falsely or mistakenly accused? Due process is a constitutional right. Suspending due process is suspending the constitution and the rule of law.

Did I say they shouldn't have due process?

Do you not think violent criminals who are here illegally should be deported?

Yes it is what you said, and certainly implied.

I agree that the person needs to be imprisoned and then deported. All who do such things need to be imprisoned and deported after DUE PROCESS as guaranteed by the Constitution.

I agree. But would immigration court be considered adequate due process? Because if so, if a person has been determined to be in the country illegally in an immigration court, but has no history of violent crime, they should still be deported, but not black listed from going through the legal process. Note, I am not talking about legal refugees.

There are people here legally under asylum who are being deported.

see Trump Administration Directs Judges to Deny Asylum Without Hearings.

A new Trump administration policy urges immigration judges to swiftly deny asylum to migrants whose applications they deem unlikely to succeed. The expedited dismissals would circumvent the normal hearing process, which typically takes years to wind through the backlogged courts.
The guidance from the Justice Department, which took effect April 11, states that judges should consider dropping “legally deficient” asylum cases without holding a hearing. Doing that would keep some people who claim to be fleeing persecution in their home countries from having any opportunity to present their case to a judge.....
Mary Giovagnoli, an immigration lawyer who served in Democratic and Republican administrations, said judges were essentially being told, “If there is any doubt about the case, you shouldn’t hold a hearing.” Such a policy, she added, “is flipping the notion of due process on its head.”

Although I do not like this approach, assuming these are legitimate "refugees." There is no other way to ensure the safety of U.S. citizens, given how contaminated the country is with the trash like that in the OP. One of the questions that I would ask is, "Refugees from where?" If they are coming from Venezuela, why did thy not take refuge in Mexico? Why did they illegally travel trough Mexico to come to America? My thoughts are that the Mexican government rolled out the red carpet straight to the U.S. because they did not want to deal with them. This is why we see so many migrant caravans with tens of thousands of people migrating to the U.S. border, many of whom admit that they are merely seeking refuge for "economic reasons" and false hope that we would just make all their wildest dreams come true. This is why Trump's "Remain In Mexico" policy was so upsetting. Because it prevented so many people trying to abusing the asylum process. But the most important question, going back to the OP topic, is how do we vet the millions of illegal immigrants to determine if they are another one of these trash, or just some honest family trying to make it through? I would argue that the best solution is to deport them all, and let the system figure it out, as it should have been done from the start.

You are obviously right, there are no drug cartels and gangs running things in Mexico!! If i am looking to escape the reach of the cartels I am not stopping in Mexico.
