For all of you talking about due process-

Due process in the immigration law does NOT mean every single illegal gets a gearing in front of an immigration judge. It seems like so many here belive that all illegals get a hearing. All 20 million of them if they were all to be deported. That's not how it works.

And do you see what a mess we have created by letting all these illegals in? Biden was inevitable of the worst in enforcing the border. Allowing the flood of illegals, some of whom who have committed horrendous crimes and others who have just committed crimes. And ALL who have come illegally and are caught do not automatically receive a hearing. It not required by immigration law that they do.
Due process includes determining IF a person actually IS here illegally. When a person makes a legal claim, then they are supposed to go before an immigration judge for a hearing.

Asylum application is also part of due process.

Personal remarks are unwelcome.
Is that going to be reciprocal? Regarding Asylum, the legal process begins at a legal point of entry. Not after being arrested after illegally living in Maryland for almost a decade.

Hopefully. I regret "that" post made earlier.

That's right as far as asylum goes, barring any other special issues (INAL), however, he still has habeas corpus rights. If ICE hadn't sent him to the one place that was illegal to send him, I doubt he would have ever have made the news. But ICE did, against specific, repeated court orders.

You are obviously right, there are no drug cartels and gangs running things in Mexico!! If i am looking to escape the reach of the cartels I am not stopping in Mexico.
They stopped in Mexico when there is a "remain in Mexico" policy.

I regret some of my comments as well.

But as far as the OP goes, the murderer (I refuse to use his name) did receive due process and a jury found him guilty. As of yet, he has not been deported. Would it be wrong to send him to a Salvadorian prison?

There's a couple of arguments to be made against it. First, he should go through the justice system here first, including serving time. One argument against that is simply the expense - it seems cheaper to deport him (but we don't yet know how much the US is paying El Salvador for this service). Second, that Salvadoran prison has a reputation for extreme brutality which shocks the conscience of decent society. One, not good argument against that is the US does this all the time (well, not all the time, but way too often); it's who we are as a people.

In short, I am ambivalent.

If the person claims the INS is wrong and they want to fight the deportation they can. But INS is not required to put every single illegal in front of a judge before they are deported.

At least Trump took the time to comfort this grieving mother.
If you notice rhe Democrats did not comfort those people. But they will insinuate that all illegals including violent ones have to be seen by an immigration. Judge before being deported. In fact that seems like that is what they want to happen even though that is NOT the due process of the law.

Who did? Which democrats? I'm talking politicians. Thats who I was referencing.

Ah politicians.

If it were my daughter, the last person I would want to see is a politician offering his or her "condolences"

In this thread, you need to make sure you clarify what you mean by "those people." It could be considered racist.

Sure, after due process, ship 'em out (or incarcerate 'em).
Not sure it's possible to give several million people due process.

Yes. A photo op. Would you want her coming to visit you after your daughter was killed by an illegal immigrants gangster? If not, my point remains the same.
I would, photo op or no. Because she at least seems to get it.
