I've never seen a group of people so angry and full of vitriol that they won an election.
What about the ones full of vitriol that they lost. We have friendships and family members abandoned because someone voted for Trump. I personally know someone was so depressed they couldn’t get out of the house for weeks after the election. I have a liberal family member who is truly afraid Trump will round him up and put him in a camp. Now on Facebook locally we have liberals calling for everyone to put multiple tv’s in their house on channels other than the inauguration to hurt the ratings as a protest. This is not normal behavior from stable individuals it is irrational behavior as a result of gaslighting by the liberal machine.

Someone should tell those people that's not how TV ratings work.

Someone actually brought that up on the thread. I did point out this was irrational behavior.

I don't know if it could be considered irrational or not...but it does show these people, whoever they are, have no idea how TV ratings work.

-- A2SG, not on facebook myself, so I have no idea if this is typical or not.....

Great choice if four more years for Republicans is the goal!
If the Trump administration shapes up the way he appears to want it to, then I think it will usher in a labor candidate. Whether that will be a Democratic party candidate or not is up to the Democrats.

Lots of those were indicted and convicted of their actions on 1/6 (with one particularly notable example as an exception), but that's really getting off topic for this thread.

I actually was speaking of the most recent election. I do realize it is tough for many liberals to let the past be the past.

What do you mean by a Labor candidate? Are you suggesting that Democrats should adopt a similar policy to the Labor Party in the UK?

This is not normal behavior from stable individuals it is irrational behavior as a result of gaslighting by the liberal machine.

I know a few individuals in my social circle who identify as liberals, and after the election, they have expressed concerns, limited their interactions, and exhibited some behaviors mentioned in your post.

Thos who are Christian I tell them “ Be still, and know that I am God;”.

For those who are not Christian, it might be challenging to provide them with an understanding of reality. Perhaps after six months, when they observe that the sky has not fallen, Liz Cheney and Adam Schiff have not been handcuffed or imprisoned, and Congress continues to conduct its business as it has for the past 250 years, their fears will begin to subside.

This behavior is not limited to liberals or Democrats. Conservatives have also exhibited questionable actions. Four years ago, some conservatives went to Washington D.C., broke into Congress, and attempted to overturn the election results because they believed that millions of deceased individuals had voted for Joe Biden. Even yesterday, the woman nominated for Attorney General of the USA could not state that "Joe Biden won the election in 2020" during a Senate hearing. These are also not considered normal behaviors.

We have extremists on both sides. If, as Americans, we want to move past partisan politics, we must be honest and address these issues sincerely. We cannot label the other side as irrational while ignoring irrational behavior within our own ranks.

I don't know what their policy is. Ideally, the basic policy should be to improve lot of the working class by increasing their labor market power.

Someone gets it!

Sanders/AOC 2028 - let's promote it!

Senator sanders will be 87 years old by 2028. I hardly doubt he will ever run again.

I doubt the Democrats will nominate a female presidential candidate soon. The 2016 and 2024 elections showed Americans remain skeptical about female leadership.

The Democratic and liberal sides have collapsed since the 2024 election. I have never seen a political party deteriorate as they have since November. The media, Democratic political apparatus, and voters have all seemingly diminished in presence. The 2024 election was not as decisive as the elections of 1980 or even 2008 regarding the incumbent party's reputation. However, it appears that Democrats and the media were so convinced that the American people would reject President Trump and his policies that they still struggle to accept their loss.

However, we all know, President Trump has aggravate them just by opening his mouth, so they won't stay hidden for long.

The question is, which Democrat will emerge at the end of this year? It is unlikely to be AOC's faction but rather Governor Gavin Newsom, representing a more moderate stance without extreme policies like defunding the police, abolishing ICE, transgender participation in girls' sports, or open borders.

Labor law reform. The right to form unions has been weakened over the years by conservative policies. These rights should be restored. Labor law reform would also include resisting conservative attempts to weaken or eliminate child labor laws and other laws related to workplace safety. Verification of citizenship status for employees should be made mandatory. Single-payer health care should be established to remove access to health care from the control of the employer. Just off the top of my head, those would be the short term goals. Long term. better regulation of the financial sector and serious anti-trust efforts would also play a part.

It may be necessary to reconsider and remove some of the euphemism. When Senator Sanders or the media say "Democrats lost working-class Americans," they really mean "Democrats lost rural WHITE voters."

Democrats didn't lose working-class voters: 80% of African Americans, 58% of Hispanic voters, and 60% of all immigrants voted for Democrats. They are as much a part of the working class as any other white American who works minimum wages.

Rural White Americans, regardless of education, profession, or faith, will not return to the Democratic Party because Democrats plan to restore labor laws.

They left the Democratic Party because they felt it no longer represented their values and way of life. They also disagreed with the party's immigration policies, believing that the increase in immigrants from non-white countries, whether legal or illegal, was changing the America they knew. Additionally, they were concerned about the Democratic Party's stance on broader immigration, globalization, and tolerance for non-traditional behaviors such as transgender lifestyle.

Rural White Americans view Democrats as hypocrites for promoting tolerance and inclusion while not tolerating conservative views on guns, faith, or their lifestyle.

Democrats will not win rural white voters with policies. Democrats may benefit from understanding why they lost support from 20% of African American voters, 42% of Hispanic voters, or 15% of young white men in the 2024 election.

I think you are misinterpreting Trump's victory as a culture war victory. The swing vote he got from the working class had more to do with immigration and the economy than it did with "values."

In 2024, 80% of African American voters supported the Democratic party. Do you believe they are working-class voters?

In 2024, 58% of Hispanic/Latino voters supported the Democratic party. Do you believe they are working-class voters?
