Think about that for a second, the majority of voters preferred the last ranking president over the very best the Democrats had

Gotta make you wonder what the voters saw that the historians did not.
Voters don't always have an objective view of things, informed by history the way historians often do. Even so, why just under half of the voting public saw fit to vote someone convicted of fraud on multiple occasions into the presidency is something I can't quite fathom myself. But they did, and the nation will have to live with that decision for however long his term of office lasts, I guess.

I have no idea what future generations will think of the voters of today, though. But, then again, we could say the same for those voters who chose James Buchanan or Warren G. Harding.

I just completely disagree with the premise of this entire article. Ridiculous conservative blathering. I've never seen a group of people so angry and full of vitriol that they won an election.
They ran on owning the libs for years, to the effect of having nothing left except more owning the libs.

Pretending that the democratic party is completely done is nonsense. They lost the election and got beaten in every swing state, true, but the margins weren't huge anywhere. A couple of years of Trump will put people back into mind for the democratic party, and assuming that Trump doesn't run in 2028, his cult of personality will not avail the GOP. I can't see Trump doing a great job in building up a successor, much like Biden didn't with Harris.

Joe did manage to Damage the Democratic agenda like non other

That’s a plus to many people.
Maybe his greatest achievement. Now the Democrats have the opportunity to go back to being a labor party.

In that case there is always the possibility that a new party will arise, a Sanders/AOC style left labor party. In many ways that would be even better, a labor party not tainted by the culture war doctrines of either of our present parties.

Absolutely a Sanders/AOC ticket would be the best!

I hope they do it.

We'll see. When you get down to it, the basic cause of discontent is that the working class doesn't feel that they are getting a fair share of the pie. The Right has convinced them that winning the culture war will solve all their problems. It won't, and when it doesn't it will be interesting to see what happens next.

I saw a guy just dance for over 30 minutes to a disco song from a gay group from the 70s and perform simulated something to a microphone. That's all it took for me to win my vote.

The tax breaks helped too.

Ranking Biden the 14th greatest president isn't indicative of credibility.
I'd venture to say that these "historians" , are of the "Professor Elbowpatch" variety, their feet have never touched grass.

How you got that from the Trump dance (being done all over the place, sports personalities included) is more a statement on your mindset than the Presidents dance moves. IMHO

The dance and the microphone thing are two different events. How he got that mindset is from this:

And theirs also.

I survived Carter and his loss lead to 12 years of Republicans in the White House.

Hopefully history will repeat itself.
Those years, filled with corruption, led to 8 years of Democrats. The years led to the political weaponization of the DOJ, by Republican standards. That led to Republicans getting us into endless wars and economic disaster. That led to 8 years of economic growth.

I am not homosexual so I don't find a 3 sec gif made to mock credible - What middle schooler did it, I don't know, but it isn't worth the time of day. Sad that adults have sunk so low.

Oh man. This is hilarious! Modern day "republicans" claiming Biden is the worst of 2nd worst president ever. And I can guarantee that they would never consider that their bias might colour their "otherwise objective understanding of facts".

I will be VERY curious to hear where learned people who actually know how good other presidents were in great depth would put Biden.

Fact is, every Democrat president from now on is going to be "the worst president ever". It's such an immature way of interacting with reality to be so unaware of objective, factual analysis.

I am not some one who watches gifs, I saw our future President doing that during the rally on cspan.

But no matter, his tax breaks for the rich will benefit me more than the Democrats taking my money and distributing to people who make less than me.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing what historians will say about Biden's term in a couple years. I consider his term to be a failed presidency, but that's only because Trump will come in and wipe out everything he's done. Except for a few really annoying things at the end, I think Biden did a decent job overall, and I wouldn't put his performance anywhere near the bottom of all the presidents.

I consider Biden to be my second-least favorite of all the presidents in my lifetime, but I don't regret voting for him. We can do worse, and we have done worse.

Joe Biden crushes Democrat agenda. This is his legacy

***PLEASE NOTE - THIS THREAD IS ABOUT JOE BIDEN***

In six days, President Joe Biden will leave the Oval Office, a beaten man. Not only is he responsible for his party’s loss in November, but he has also presided over the slaughter of Democrats’ most sacred cows, the ideological I-beams supporting their progressive agenda.
DEI, a destructive mandate which blew up into a multi-billion-dollar industry, is being abandoned. ESG, the woke global investment directive, is being tossed overboard. "Gender-affirming care," polite words to describe the mutilation of young bodies, is being challenged by people who actually care about children. Illegal and unlimited immigration is under attack, lax law enforcement is under fire and censorship, the Left’s ultimate weapon and sin, is on the run.

Democrats pretend, still, that Joe Biden has been a successful president. They applaud the big spending bills he signed, not because they resulted in tangible benefits to the American people, but because they drove trillions of dollars to Democrat-friendly coffers and causes. The embarrassing failures to build out charging stations or expand broadband access showcase the incompetence of his White House; the pile-up of an incremental $8 trillion in debt, 30% of the total outstanding, is the bill he leaves behind.
Democrats must reckon with the aftermath. Biden has not only taken the Left off the political grid, he leaves the grid in ruins.

History will determine the legacy of President Biden. It is too early, and our current political climate does not allow for an impartial assessment of any sitting president. Perhaps 50 years from now, historians will be able to look back and evaluate his presidency more objectively.

President Biden has certainly made mistakes.

His approval polls indicate that Americans are not satisfied with his job performance. It is uncertain whether this dissatisfaction is due to his actions or influenced by the pandemic's aftermath. Inflation, the conflicts in Ukraine and Israel, were outside his control, but as President, he is responsible for addressing these issues.

Since the pandemic, nearly every democratic nation has replaced its incumbent party. Liberal governments turned conservative, and conservative ones turned liberal. Citizens are dissatisfied with inflation and expect a swift return to pre-pandemic normalcy, which is unrealistic.

It is too soon to label it as a “crushing Democrat agenda,” especially after a close election. While victorious parties often claim a voter mandate, history shows that major wins can quickly fade—like President Obama’s 2008 victory, which led to a loss of congressional control after two years. A similar shift occurred in the 2018 mid-terms. Let's wait to see how Americans respond after two years of the new administration.

I don't want to divert from your topic, but could you explain what concerns there are with DEI? The DEI program emphasizes the importance of respecting diversity and including individuals regardless of their identity. What aspects of this approach are incorrect?
