That one time someone died from touching it, it was being carried by oxen, so the second part of your question is based on a false premise.
As to the first part of your question, why do you assume a physical cause of death? Why did Ananias with his wife Sapphira drop dead when Peter exposed their falsehood? Was Peter a charged capacitor too?
