For all my pontificating about sports leagues scheduling games on Christmas being so unfair to the players, I seem to have no reservations about DVRing games to watch on that day.

You know, I’m always surprised how, like, their families stay intact despite their schedules, & having to move to city to city & stuff after being traded. I think they just really really like what they’re doing, it’s a God-given talent but also desire too, you're doing the work you're supposed to

Also, I DVR a lot of games too. It’s really not the same as watching it live but you can fast forward thru the commercials & if you miss a game you can still watch it rather than watching another game you don't really care for – although trying to avoid the end score can be challenging sometimes

And yet, the weight of accountability is not removed from you. How will you escape the coming judgment? If you have not faced and triumphed over your own temptations and trials, how can you stand in the counsel of the Lord? When I was a child I was naturally heavy into R.L. Stine's Goosebumps books, being a child of the 90's and all, and I remember reading so much and so frequently back then that I even went though the choose-your-own-adventure books from that franchise several times over, fascinated by the mere concept of being able to determine the fate of the main character for myself, regardless of whether or not the story itself appealed to me. ^-^

Every so often as an adult I would get the urge to go through one of these kinds of books again, especially for the thrill of seeing how many tries I would take for me to reach a good ending, testing my luck and ability to pay attention to clues.

So, in the book I am going through at the present, in the picture above, the story is about my nameless self-insert hero visiting my two cousins Eddie and Jennie - who are fraternal twins - at a really old hotel that their father bought and put back into business. Eddie and Jennie found some sorcerer's diary from a century ago about his trying to conduct a ceremony on All Hallow's Eve in 1900 to seal up the gateway to Hell, but he failed, so I guess now a century later to the day, if we don't find some way to finish what he started, then demons and angry ghosts are going to run amok at the hotel where this Hell gate has been lying dormant. So my cousins want me to help them find the four magical items needed to complete the sealing ritual that are supposedly hidden around the hotel, and that's where the adventure begins.

My first choice was to between assisting Eddie in his search on one wing of the hotel, or to help Jennie on the opposite side. Now, if you all haven't come to know me as Sarah's Knight after the ten years I have been here, then you'll never know me. XD .... So far be it for me to leave a lady to fend for herself on a quest where we may all very well be arousing the ire of evil spirits.


And so far everything seems to be going well while Jennie and I explore the dark recesses and hidden-away rooms of the grand hotel. Haven't died yet or anything in a bad ending, but I really must ask,

Why is my COUSIN flirting with me, like, repeatedly?


I mean, I'm all for siblings, cousins, etc of opposite-sex pairings who act like best friends for life. But this? Even I am not so oblivious as to see that Jennie is straight up flirting with me, at every possible turn. O_O

Wolves in sheep's clothing often present themselves as poor, vulnerable, and in need, using this guise to appeal to your compassion and lower your guard. Their outward appearance belies a calculated agenda, crafted to deceive and manipulate, sowing confusion among the unsuspecting. It is their strategy to exploit the goodness in others, diverting resources, blessings, and opportunities that were meant for the rightful heirs your sons and daughters.

This is why discernment is essential in every interaction. True need and humility will always reflect integrity, whereas falsehood eventually reveals its cracks. By seeking wisdom and grounding your actions in truth, you can see past the facade, safeguarding the treasures of inheritance and the fruits of righteousness.

Beware of those whose aim is to infiltrate and dismantle, for their ultimate goal is not just to take what is not theirs but to disrupt and destroy the foundation of trust, love, and faith within the community. Stand firm, seek clarity through prayer and reflection, and allow God's guidance to uncover the hidden truth behind every mask.

Supposedly Lady Winter's more ... extreme embrace, shall we call it - will be extending further South to me by Thursday or Friday. So long as it doesn't knock out the power or get anyone hurt while on the roads, I welcome it. ^-^

She spoils her favorite knight even now with 20 degree temperature on a cloudless night where I saw all of the stars above, as I found just now while doing laundry (I have to walk halfway down the row of apartments outside to do laundry every few days, and I tend to take care of that during the middle of the night while no one else would normally do so, to ensure that the machines are freed up, and because I am almost always awake at night now, due to moving to a straight night shift schedule. And I will miss that aspect of apartment life when I move into a new house next month that has its own washer and dryer, going outside to do laundry on a colder night - always hated it during the summer, though. )
