Didn't they earn their healthcare?
You have to understand that @Aryeh Jay adopts a style of posting in which he illustrates the foolishness of a position, generally by highlighting contradictions arising from it. It caught me out the first time I saw one of his posts.

Earn? Don't people deserve healthcare?
Fair point. But, who is going to pay for the salaries as well as the rest of the expenses of the health care workers, supplies, medicines, etc.?

The National Health Service in the UK was founded on the principal of free at point of delivery. We pay for it through our taxes. It's worked pretty well for three quarters of a century, though it is presently under severe pressure. (Nothing that a few more tax payments couldn't solve.) So while I may wish I could see a doctor a little more easily and not have to hold for three hours on the non-emergency health help line, while the pain slowly escalated towards emergency status, at no time do I have to worry about whether or not I can afford the cost of any subsequent treatment. I'll take that over the US system any day of the year, including leap years.
