We only moved once when I was growing up, and then mom and dad moved the week after we got married.

I remember being devestated at the thought of moving, but my family made it an adventure. I do think that it's that experience that makes it so hard for me to say good bye though.

Since marrying a pastor, we have been in 3 congregations in 15 years, and each move gets harder though. Our last move was out of the pastorate for hubby to do parachurch ministry, and we stayed in the same house, just a different worship setting each Sunday when he's preaching.

Moves never are easy. New friends, new smells, new routine. It's tough to adjust as an adult, and even harder as a child.

To me the place that I am at now has become home. I really don't know if I could move away from here. I have been here for 12 yrs. The longest I've been anywhere. This church has become my family.
the longest i've been anywhere was for 2 and a half years..... :sigh:
