I would like to make a small woodworking bench that I can carry or wheel outside and use it to make bird houses and other things. I just need a little 2x4 lumber, glue, and I also need a vise either fabricated by myself or purchased from a retailer. Keep it simple and cheap is my motto
I got a little further with the blacksmith tool. I made a couple design mistakes but I correct them. This tool will be a tool holder for punches and chisels but will also be like a guillotine tool. It's will serve both needs. And it's free made from scrap metal that I have. It won't be like the guillotine tool seen below but I'll use the same type dies with the tool holder
I didn't like the sloppy hinge I welded on my tool holder that I'm making. I found something better. It's the hinge from an old scissor jack used for lifting automobiles. It's tougher and fits line a glove I think. So I'll cut a few welds and git er done. God willing.
Lol the new hinge has play in it as well. I'm unsure if it even matters. But I think I'll fix it anyway. I know how to remedy this situation. Perhaps the third attempt will be satisfactory.
This hobby thing is a real blessing. I use to wake up with warfare each morning but now I worship God and pray. And I think about the hobby or what I might do today.
I want to make a track saw guide for my circular saw. I want it to attach to a small table like this festool table but I want to make my own track and table from wood. Nothing fancy just functional.
I've made wood track cutting guides before. They're easy. But I've never attached one to a table before. I want to make bird houses and things like that. Simple things.
I think I'll forge some simple carving tools maybe. I want to try carving spoons. It's cool that I can make the tool and then use it to carve a spoon. Forging blades is not the easiest thing to do but im forging very small cutters so i think i can manage. I want to make wood spoons and bird houses. And forge decorative steel hooks, candle holders and things. It's therapeutic for my heart, mind and soul.
I could forge a decorative sword and make a shield to hang on the wall. I'm not sure that I'm worthy though. The sword and shield can be Jesus. He is anyway. He is worthy.
There is no need for an expensive track saw, miter saw, or table saw. Sure they have advantages but they're not necesary for myself. Just a circular saw and some simple jigs.
