What is the sort of wine - or the sorts of wine - that you like most?

This is a big and great forum and I hope that besides me and Larnievc there are also other friends of good wine and we two are not alone.
May I repeat my words ....

This constant hatred of wine makes me really sad.
What I find especially sad is when hatred of wine comes in religious disguise.
When people think they are above Jesus!
Jesus liked wine!

My parents were of the belief that you can't be a true Christian and drink at the same time.

With all due respect to your parents, but they are wrong!
They are very very wrong!
They even say that Jesus was no true Christian!
How dare they!

The so-called "wine" that Jesus drank was actually grapejuice. Has nobody ever told you that?

I use a bible study tool called the Blue Letter Bible and when I looked up wine in its dictionary it said grapejuice. So what Jesus drank was not true wine as we know it today.

What makes you think that in ancient times they had wine like we do today? Nearly 2,000 years ago their technology was not nearly as advanced as it is today. They could not be drinking a wine that is like our modern-day wines. If anything it was far more primitive than what you see on the shelves today.

Can we go on talking about wine?

My poll about the question if Christians are allowed to drink wine has been closed with the info, that no debating is allowed here.

So let's not debate this point, but just go on talking about our favourite wines.

As a prepper, we recognize the value of wine in a post-catastrophe world. I will watch and see what the favorites are. They will be good for bartering and a world where fresh water cannot be found.

There are a lot of great dishes cooked with wine too.

It is good to read a good word about wine! :)

Btw: Martin Luther once said: Beer is made by man - but wine is a work of God! :)

Cabernet. The drier the better.

That is a good topic: Dry or sweet?
Fashions change here.
Once upon a time the feeling was: The drier the better!
Then: The sweeter the better!
Then again: The drier the better!

The dry-fraction went so far as to say: Wine can never be sweet! If wine is sweet, it isn't wine any more!
And it was hinted, that those who like their wine sweet, do not really know what wine is.
I suspect that because of this some people did not dare to buy sweet wine, for fear of being taken for know-nothings.

I confess that for some time I was also of the opinion that the dry wine is better than the sweet wine.
Now I say: It all depends.

I like my Gewürztraminer sweetisch. Not sugary-sweet, but spicy-sweet.
So spicy that I do not have the feeling that I am drinking sugar water, but that I am drinking a Gewürztraminer with some sweetness.

There is an old saying: Life is too short to drink bad wine!
True!
And I like to add: Life is too short to drink sour Gewürztraminer!
