In this clip it doesn't look like anything out of the ordinary for a basketball injury. They were both going for the ball, the one girl who goes down tried holding on to the ball as long as she could but she was already thrown off-balance when the player in question turns to try to shoot. Pretty standard in just about any basketball game.

What am I missing here?

I suppose we could let elephants play in girls' sports. Then as the girls get trampled one by one, we can just say they were all playing normal basketball. No fouls. Let them play!
