Education is the key. Sadly we are going in the opposite direction.
I don't think it is the key, actually. Poor people know junk food is bad for you and that actually cooking food is healthier than eating frozen pizza. They know it is not healthy. But, most people choose taste over health.

They must be taught to care about their health. As it is they don't make the connection between health and success in other areas of life.

Seriously, we can do this.
we can even have the poor helping us,
Galatea can be in charge of the gardening.
and old wise guy, you and I can help her plant.
and we can preach the gospel to them and encourage them.
Galatea, wise guy, I have gardened since I was knee high to a grass hopper.
I don't know everything about it, but maybe yall know more.
We don't need the govt, besides the govt hates the gospel being preached anyway.

I know what you are saying, but a lot of times, poor people see do gooders educating them as condescending, so are not open to listening. I know, as I grew up poor.

Really, I think restricting whst can be bought with government assistance is the best route.

Have you gardened much? About the time you're tired of it the real work begins.
But this is also why the poor we are helping can help us too.
so none have too much of a burden.
I was thinking about the other thing.
is it also not sad that junk food is cheaper than good food.
it should be the other way around.

You don't want me in charge of gardening, that is for sure.

Junk food is the most expensive food there is from a nutritional standpoint.

I'm not sure what Scilla is, all I can think of is Scilla and Charybdis. Wasn't Scilla a three or four headed monster? Or was it Scylla?

The monster is Scylla. Scilla is a pesky spring flowering bulb that takes over shady lawns. It's difficult to eradicate, that's why you should get here soon before it takes over completely (or I have to use Roundup on it and replant the grass).

I would if I could, but I have to work, so I can't help you.

Just call it wildflowers.
