The U.S. Secret Service held meetings and started planning for what to do if former President Donald Trump were to be held in contempt in his criminal hush money trial and Judge Juan Merchan opted to send him to short-term confinement, officials familiar with the situation told ABC News.

Merchan on Tuesday reserved decision on the matter after a contentious hearing. Prosecutors said at this point they are seeking a fine.

“We are not yet seeking an incarceratory penalty," assistant district attorney Chris Conroy said, "But the defendant seems to be angling for that."

Officials do not necessarily believe Merchan would put Trump in a holding cell in the courthouse but they are planning for contingencies, the officials said.

There have not been discussions yet about what to do if Trump is convicted and sentenced to prison.

If nothing else, this should be some interesting content for future high school students.

I don’t wish to ever give Trump what he wants because he always get‘s what he wants but in this case, I think they should lock him up.

Trump is way to smart for these low IQ people , he will just use one of his doubles again.
I can just see the double sitting in a cell while Don is sipping tea on some beautiful tropical island somewhere.

Trump assuming he was too smart to get caught, is what put him in the messes he's in now.

No he's not in a mess at all , this is all part of his plan. Just keep watching and you will see.
Remember , he's dealing with Neanderthals.
And he's a magnificent chess player.

Of course. He's tossing away hundreds of millions of dollars and getting indicted for dozens of felonies to ... (something?)

Remember , he's dealing with Neanderthals.
Which is why he's getting outsmarted. BTW, there's no evidence that Neanderthals were dumber than anatomically modern humans.

And he's a magnificent chess player.
The tweets pushing this rumor also made several other outlandish claims: Some held that Barron Trump had an IQ of 146; others maintained that Barron's father Donald Trump studied under chess legend Bobby Fischer and was himself one of the most celebrated chess players of all time. Many of these tweets were also accompanied by the accusation that the mainstream news media was ignoring the many chess-related accomplishments of the Trump family.

While it's true that mainstream news has largely ignored these stories, that circumstance isn't due to any perceived bias. These reports were left uncovered for the simple fact that they were untrue.

My simple reply is this , they have been trying to get him since 2016 and have failed at every turn.
And they will continue to fail , because he is innocent of any wrong doing.

Just keep watching the weeks and months ahead and you will see his innocense.
This is going to take time , so relax and enjoy the show. Trump Vs the deep state.

Hmm... "they" sounds a bit paranoid. Which of the prosecutors who are currently involved were trying to "get him" in 2016?

Too late. He's already been found guilty of slandering the woman he sexually assaulted and found guilty of fraud in faking the value of his properties. More to come.

This is going to take time
Yep. But Trump is currently 0 for 2. Not a good start, um? And it's clearly bringing him down.

At a rally in Ohio, Donald Trump again exhibited symptoms of something apparently being wrong neurologically. Trump ties to turn it all into a joke by claiming he is being intentional and it is part of his performance. But at this point such deflections have no credibility, even given the ex-president’s “challenging” relationship with the truth and reality. You and your colleagues’ warnings and predictions appear to be proven correct almost every week.

Our Trump dementia-watch weekly round-up is becoming a regular ritual for one simple reason: Trump can’t go a full week without displaying gross signs of what appears to be dementia. This week he said “Joe Biden beat Barack Hussein Obama. Ever heard of him?” Donald Trump is disoriented. He doesn’t know who the president is, who he’s running against in the primary, or whether E. Jean Carrol is his wife. (I’m not trying to be funny, but it reminds me of the Oliver Sacks book, “The Man Who Mistook his Wife for a Hat.”) In my opinion, this is brain damage. There is no medically credible explanation for these occurrences that doesn’t not involve brain damage, most probably dementia.

In their opening statement, prosecutors in Donald Trump's New York criminal trial describe a document with notes in the margin, handwritten by former Trump Org CFO Allen Weisselberg, outlining the structure of the hush money payments to Stormy Daniels. Andrew Weissmann, former federal prosecutor, and Catherine Christian, former Manhattan prosecutor, discuss the significance of this evidence.

No need to concern ourselves with whats happening at the moment , looks bad
Who knows what his mind will be like in a few months? He's observably worse now than just a few weeks ago.

“Gettysburg — what an unbelievable battle that was,” Trump said during a campaign speech Saturday in Schnecksville, Pa.

“It was so interesting, and so vicious, and horrible, and so beautiful in so many different ways,” Trump told the crowd of the 1863 battle of Gettysburg.

“Gettysburg, wow,” Trump continued.

His followers believe everything he says, no matter how nonsensical.
