1. I do not keep the sabbath, although I do spend Saturday and Sunday focused on god and try not to use technology (which I already don’t use very much) and spent with my familyI am curious about conservative Christians, so I have a few questions...
Do you keep the Sabbath?
What do you think justifies divorce?
What are your standards of dress for public modesty?
Should the sexes be mixed or separated in religious service?
Do you have television in your home?
Would you send your children to public school?
I am not Christian but I will answer my own questions. I keep the Sabbath. Only adultery or failure of husband to provide justifies divorce. Clothes should be loose fitting from collarbone to knees (at least). The sexes should be separated in religious service. I do not have television. I homeschooled my kids.
2. IMO the standards for divorce are Adultery, marital rape, some insanely immoral act (like murder or rape outside of the marriage)
3. My standards for modesty are pretty strict, and yes this applies outside of church. For men I think dress shirts and dress pants are appropriate. For women I think long sleeve solid color shirts, sweaters, or blouses are appropriate as well as a floor length skirt and hose. Me (M) and my mom are the strictest in my family, and follow the rules except I usually wear a tie as well.
4. Mixed. I don’t see how this would matter- I sit with my family and close friends no matter what gender they are.
5. TV has sinful unchristian programming that it is unhealthy to fill the mind with.
6. I haven’t really thought about schooling yet.
