With out faith we can never please Him.. always faith, believe in, trust in. Me I as its written know He hears me then I know I will receive the petitions/prayers I asked for. Now if I doubt I will be like a ship tossed back and forth let not that man think he will get anything from God.

For me prayer is the completion of my faith in that I believe we are called to pray for the salvation of everyone around us ( 1 Timothy 2:1-6) as well as our own. This is according to the Lord’s commandments ( Matthew 22:36-40) from which we need to treat each other accordingly ( Matthew 7:12 within the larger context of Matthew 7:1-12. The Lord calls us to persevere in prayer ( Luke 18:1) & to pray ( Matthew 6:9-13).

We try to imitate these matters in our works like in being charitable as the Lord tells us ( Matthew 6:1-4). This is our salvation by grace through faith expressed in works ( Ephesians 2:8-10).

This is just my understanding of which I am hardly a worthy example of.

Sure what do you need? Salvation? I pray for this poet here lord, will read their Bible a couple chapters every day and prepare their heart. I pray @Mannabar will have conviction of sin, righteousness and judgment. Please lead them with your eye to what it means to have faith. Help that faith, nurture it water it and let it grow. Then if they want to they can become Christian. Please give them the gift of faith and by your love and goodness let them repent thoroughly and receive the HS. But today is the day of salvation, make them ready. I n
Jesus Mighty Name.

Seek and you will find.

A bruised reed he will not break, and smoldering wick he will not snuff out.

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find;
knock and the
door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."

Matthew 7:7

Will you pray for me?
I will, but first I need to know what you want me to pray for (IOW, what do you want from God/what do you want Him to do for you)?

Thanks!

I believe God is ok with what you say in that it is in Jesus Christ we know that He became one of us ( John 1:1-3, John 1:14-18). Perhaps think of Thomas who knew Jesus but still did not fully understand. Check John 20, particularly John 20:24-29.

Anyone is an unbeliever until they become a believer through prayer.

This depends what you mean by "works." If you mean people always get what they pray for, clearly they don't. That's a good thing, because God knows what's best for us more than we do. The Bible does say that if you pray in accordance with God's will and with faith, you will get what you pray for.

On another note, prayer does not make anyone a believer. You either believe that you're a sinner in need of a savior, Jesus died on the cross as a substitute for you to save you from the consquences of your sins, and then He rose from the dead (i.e. basic Christianity), or you don't.

Are you saying a person's own prayer never influences his belief or that others' prayers never do?

I'd like to see if you and Wyatt can reconcile your apparent disagreement, but I know this isn't the kind of forum for that.

I don’t see how praying to a God you don’t already believe in (or at least acknowledge the possible existence of) could make you a believer. That is what I meant. I do believe that God sometimes chooses to answer other people’s prayers for someone‘s salvation.
