The link posits a strawman as the RCC does not teach the IC was somehow necessary for the incarnation - this is a common misconception even among catholics. Rather it has to do with her role as the New Eve, in the same position as Eve she obeys where Eve did not - her fiat sets in motion the incarnation and the unwinding of the fall in the person of the New Adam, Jesus.

Rather than debate the IC and assumption I would like to see discussion on the deeper truths that inform them - what are the objections to Mary as the New Eve and as the Ark of the New Covenant.
