Isaiah 34:

5 When my sword has drunk its fill in the heavens,
it shall come down upon Edom for judgment,
upon a people under my ban.
God would judge Edom. As a result, its land would become desolate:

14Wildcats shall meet with desert beasts,
satyrs shall call to one another;
There shall the lilith repose,
and find for herself a place to rest.
The Hebrew word for "lilith" <H3917> appears only once in the Bible. Its precise meaning is uncertain.

New International Version

Desert creatures will meet with hyenas, and wild goats will bleat to each other; there the night creatures will also lie down and find for themselves places of rest.
The Songs of the Sage from the Dead Sea Scrolls mentioned Lilith as a demon that

fall upon men without warning to lead them astray from a spirit of understanding."
Wiki, also:

In some Jewish folklore, such as the satirical Alphabet of Sirach (c. 700–1000 AD), Lilith appears as Adam's first wife, who was created at the same time (Rosh Hashanah) and from the same clay as Adam.[a] The legend of Lilith developed extensively during the Middle Ages, in the tradition of Aggadah, the Zohar, and Jewish mysticism.[14] For example, in the 11th-century writings of Isaac ben Jacob ha-Cohen, Lilith left Adam after she refused to become subservient to him and then would not return to the Garden of Eden after she had coupled with the archangel Samael.[15]
Note that all these extra-biblical characterizations of Lilith came centuries after Isaiah. They should not be read into Isaiah 34:5.

To call a screech owl a "lilith," then refer to "lilith" as a demon is standard academic practice for taxonomists who either have too much time on their hands, or are between jobs, or laid off, or whatever.

The Bible is full of cryptids that absolutely baffle educated people; and they're willing to make themselves look foolish to explain them.

It's funny -- (in a sad way) -- to see well-educated people trying to explain satyrs, unicorns, and dragons.

The best they can come up with is some bologna remark about how ignorant the Jews were back then.
