You are absolutely right. I remember in the 2016 election how a Russian millionaire bought a Trump property in Florida for millions more than it was worth.
Much more suspect than a judge's 35 bucks, don't you think.

Especially if they are placing Russian Millionaires as Judges in the US to determine some fate of Biden regarding his illegal practices in the past. One would think that this should disqualify that judge from ruling in a case concerning Biden.

The decision is the jury's. I think Merchan has done a great job. A jury sworn in in a week. Opening arguments Monday. Efficient, meticulous. Protective of the safety of jurors, witnesses, staff.

There are people on the jury who like Trump and those who don't. Is it a fair trial if there are people on the jury or a judge who likes Trump? Why aren't you complaining about Judge Cannon?

Stephen Gillers, a legal ethics professor at New York University, said that New York, like most US jurisdictions, has adopted language from the American Bar Association Model Code of Judicial Conduct, which prohibits judges from “soliciting funds for, paying an assessment to, or making a contribution to a political organization or candidate.”

“The contribution to Biden and possibly the one to ‘Stop Republicans’ would be forbidden unless there is some other explanation that would allow them,” Gillers said.

But Gillers said that the donation “would be viewed as trivial, especially given the small sums.” He said if a complaint was made, the state’s Commission on Judicial Conduct would remind the judge of the rules.

Asked if this could be grounds for a legal challenge or recusal, Gillers said, “Absolutely not. This does not come anywhere near the kind of proof required for recusal.”

This is why the case looks headed for reversal in a higher court. Actually there are likely other reasons as well.
