Shabbat (שַׁבָּת) is the seventh day of the week in the Jewish lunar calendar. It begins at sundown and ends at sundown. In the Western calendar, it corresponds to Friday sundown to Saturday sundown.

This Hebrew word influenced some European languages. The Spanish word for the English "Saturday" is sábado.
Croatian: subota
Czech: sobota
Italian: sabato

Sunday, or the Lord's day, is the first day of the week in the Western calendar. Some Christians think that Sunday is the day of spiritual sabbath rest. Still, it is not used as the name of the first day of the week.

I found out that not every country follows Sunday as the first day of the week. For example, some European countries begin the week with Monday, which would make Sunday the last day of the week.

The Sabbath is and will also be on the seventh day.

God said so and no one has the authority to alter His Word, nor would He alter it. Deut 4:2 Psa 89:34 Mat 5:18

Only God can reverse His blessing ,not man Num 23:20 the day of corporate worship was changed, but not by God, just as predicted in God's holy Word Dan 7:25. We see a clear history of man changing God's Sabbath I will leave a few quotes down below.

Exodus 20:10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God

The Lord's Days is the seventh day if we are to believe thus saith the Lord is our Authority

Isa 58:13 “If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath,
From doing your pleasure on My holy day,
And call the Sabbath a delight,
The holy day of the Lord honorable,
And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways,
Nor finding your own pleasure,
Nor speaking your own words,

God said all other days are working days Exo 20:9

The question is should we have faith in God to live by His every Word Mat 4:4 or follow popular traditions of man.

Jesus tells us which path to take, yet how many people believe Him. Mat 15:3-14

Christ equates keeping the Sabbath as joining ourselves with Christ, loving His name and being His servant. He says it is righteous and justice and Christ righteousness is everlasting Psa 119:142 ours are like fifthly rags Isa 64:6. Do we seek our righteousness or Christs?

Isa 56:1 Thus says the Lord:

“Keep justice, and do righteousness,
For My salvation is about to come,

And My righteousness to be revealed.
2 Blessed is the man who does this,
And the son of man who lays hold on it;
Who keeps from defiling the Sabbath,
And keeps his hand from doing any evil.”

6 “Also the sons of the foreigner
Who join themselves to the Lord, to serve Him,
And to love the name of the Lord, to be His servants

Everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath,
And holds fast My covenant

It comes down to who do we listen to. God- who said Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy, or man, who teaches to forget.

Just as predicted Dan 7:25. Man would change God's Sabbath, that almost the whole world followed just as predicted. No wonder He is calling us out of our false teachings Rev 18:4 as we must worship Him in Truth and Spirit and all God's commandments are Truth Psa 119:151

Deny the authority of the Church and you have no adequate or reasonable explanation or justification for the substitution of Sunday for Saturday in the Third - Protestant Fourth - Commandment of God... The Church is above the Bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact.'
—Catholic Record, September 1, 1923.

Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change was her act. And the act is a mark of her ecclesiastical power and authority in religious matters.
—C. F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons, in answer to a letter regarding the change of the Sabbath, November 11, 1895.

In the end we will either receive the seal of God, which is found in the Sabbath Exo 20:11 or we will receive the mark of the beast. Our only safeguard is obeying God's commandments Rev 14:11-12 because it shows who our allegiance is to. Eze 20:20

Man can alter the calendar all they want but it will never change the weekly cycle that started in Creation. God worked 6 days and rested the seventh day Sabbath. Gen 2:1-3 The weekly cycle has never changed- just like we know Jesus rested on the Sabbath even in death and went back to His Fathers work and rose on the first day, what we call Sunday.

There are two kinds of Sabbaths- the weekly Sabbath that is a commandment of God Exo 20:8-11 written personally by God Exo 32:16 Exo 31:18 and the annual sabbath(s) (ordinances) that came after the fall of man written by Moses. Hebrews 4 is about two different rests, not two different Sabbaths. Christ rest that we receive when we are in harmony with Him and His commandments Isa 48:18 Rev 14:12 and the Sabbath rest that is on the seventh day. Exo 20:10-11 Gen 2:1-3 Heb 4:4

Sadly people use Hebrews as a weapon against one of God's commandments but the Sabbath rest is always according to the commandment Luke 23:56 and is always connected to the seventh day Exo 20:10 even in Hebrews see Heb 4:4, Heb 4:9NIV Heb 4:10. Its why almost all ancient languages Saturday translates into Sabbath,

Christ in Own Words said the Sabbath is something we do. Exo 20:8-11 God did not give Himself a commandment- He said He would not alter His Words Psa 89:34 Mat 5:18 should we believe Him?

Isa 56:1 Thus says the Lord:

“Keep justice, and do righteousness,
For My salvation is about to come,
And My righteousness to be revealed.
2 Blessed is the man who does this,
And the son of man who lays hold on it;
Who keeps from defiling the Sabbath,
And keeps his hand from doing any evil.”

6 “Also the sons of the foreigner
Who join themselves to the Lord, to serve Him,
And to love the name of the Lord, to be His servants—
Everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath,
And holds fast My covenant

Biblically, yes, but historically, it originated with the Babylonians, who made a day for the seven brightest celestial objects in the sky. Not every ancient culture had a 7-day week.

Is Saturday the Sabbath or Sunday?
None. There is no sabbath anymore.

Traditionally, we still have the 7-day week, some languages still reflect the sabbath in their naming (like the Czech "sobota"), many countries, as already said, have Sunday as the 7th day or both days as a weekend with the majority of people resting from their employments. Its all just cultural or political, not biblical.

Creation week is historically, the farthest one can go back- to the beginning. :) Gen 2:1-3

Is everything in his word literal?
Of course not, the bible is very 3 dimensional with lots of layers. The rule of thumb is if it makes sense its literal, if it doesn't its symbolic. Most of what is symbolic is explained in the scriptures, if we allow the scriptures to do so. I am a creationist and believe God at His Word, but we are given free will.
