If I ruled the world...
I would humbly toss my crown at the foot of God's Throne: The Creator of the Universe, and ask Him to finally rule and restore what man has broken down and destroyed since Adam and Eve.

And I think that most of us who call ourselves Christians agree wholeheartedly with that sentiment.

But lighten up. Let your hair down and daydream.

You know, I had a phase where I was bent on taking over the world, but I'm done with that. Still, I eat this kind of stuff up, so here goes. I would start by making a new capital city in some place like Germany or Sweden, and I would construct for myself a great fortress/palace, and beside it a Cathedral in God's name. I would restore the world's broken countries and make the people flock to me. I would make it part benevolent dictatorship and part socialism, and keep people from reaching power near mine. Laws would be mostly bible based, and if anyone feels like whining about it I would simply ignore them. With my militaristic conversion of the whole world, my army will no longer be needed, so I would cut it back and make the remaining soldiers a martial police force. Freedom of speeech would be allowed, but I would not tolerate things like prostitution and homosexuality in public, thus closing down all gay bars and brothels. Medical aid would be free, and I would set up a public transportation system to eliminate need for cars. It would be a grand empire in deed, and I would make sure that my decendants had a way to be deposed should they be weak or corrupt. Cool huh? Hahahahaha.

Here are a few things that would happen if I ruled the world.

--NO NATIONAL BORDERS AND IDENTITIES. Nationalism would die, as would one of the prime causes for war and suffering.

--FOUR CAPITALS. The religious capital of the world would be Jerusalem. Financial, Tokyo. Political, New York. Judicial, Geneva. My home would be an undisclosed teepee in Mongolia, and with my satellite dish I can oversee all four parliaments.

--ONE WORLD PARK. The entire current nation of Kenya would have its human population moved elsewhere, and the whole area made a wildlife refuge. Visiting would be free and nude.

--SOLUTION TO ABORTION. I would have the best doctors in the world invent an operation that would be able to remove a fetus from a womb without harm to the mother or the infant. Wonder why we can't do this already, guess you are all awaiting my ascendency.

--BANNING OF ALL FOSSIL FUELS. Cars would run on hydrogen cells, electricity generated from massive windmill farms. Solar panels mandatory on every home and business roof. Would eliminate another cause of war--the fighting over resources.

--BASIC STANDARDS OF HUMAN DIGNITY. Since the world already has the means to eradicate poverty, all it needs is the will. Here it is. Homelessness will be a crime against humanity, everyone who wants to work will be able to find it, and health insurance would cease to exist because all drugs and operations would be priced based on personal ability to pay, not supply and demand.

--THEOCRATIC SOCIALISM. Most laws will be based on the Gospels. Not the Mosaic laws. As such, turning a blind eye to a beggar will be a misdemeanor, calling the poor lazy is not protected by the First Amendment, and my WWJD campaign will instruct what Jesus really would do.

--BIRTH CONTROL. All babies will have their genitalia removed at birth. They will be reattached on their 21st birthday in a celebration bigger than any Bar Mitzvah you can imagine.

--PARENTAL LICENSES. Seeing as how we need to register to drive, to hunt, and to vote, I don't think I am out of line to say parents will need a license to raise children. A basic written and oral test will be required.

--REDEFINING MARRIAGE. The primary basis of marriage will not be on procreation, but on commitment. As such, marriage will require a one-year waiting period, divorce will be taboo, thirty-year marriages will be rewarded handsomely, and the gay marriage issue will be rendered moot.

--EDUCATION. My kingdom will do more than just talk about teachers being an asset to society. Military spending will never exceed education spending, to give you an idea of the percentage of GDP we are talking about. Private education will dwindle because the quality of the public school will be so great.

--THE NAME. This united planet we live on will be no longer called Earth. It's new name will be New Eden.

--CAPITAL PUNISHMENT. All forms of the death penalty will be abolished. Instead, the prison system will become medieval dungeons.

--WEALTH. There is nothing wrong with being rich, but in a theocratic socialist world, why would you want to? Becoming rich will be scrutinized, and making others poor in the process will be seen as a crime against humanity.

--SPORTS. The Olympics will have a permanent home in Athens. There will be a college football playoff, and the NCAA title game and the Super Bowl will be played on the same day as part of a double-header. Soccer will be banned, not only because of nationalistic hooliganism, but because it's actually a pretty boring thing to watch on TV.

There's a few to keep you busy for a little while.

Hmm, I like those ideas, except the whole genetalia thing . Also, would keep capital punishment for high crimes like treason, every thing else would be paid by either community service, probation, or banishment to a reserved island where they must live without my laws and see what a truly great leader I really was. Of course I would try and rule in as godly a way as possible. As for the whole national line thing, the people would take the change of having one man ruling them all fairly hard, so it would be best to leave them with as much of their old world and lives as possible, so as to keep them from revolting. Any rebellions would be solved swiftly with the same punishment for treason. Firing squad. Send in the army to despose of whatever insugrents were in the area, and avoid killing civilians. Of course, to conquer the world you need advanced equipment for your soldiers, including better assault rifles and composite body armor for your infantry, better tanks and airplanes, stuff like that. Naturally anyone who rebels against my order would be treated as an enemy of the state and killed in combat. To reduce civilian casualties and becuase of the sophisticated armor we would employ, melee weapons would be used before any sort of fire arms. As far as religion, duh, christianity. If they want other religions then fine, but they have to pay for it themselves. As for language, once again they would need something of their old lives to cling to for comfort, so instead of making them speak a language, I would provide interpretor devices to anyone who requests one for whatever reason. Some capitalism must be employed to keep the people from reacting in a shell shock manner. Once more, they are not used to socialism or dictarship in many countries, so allowing people to have atleast a significant amount of control of their own money is necessary.

I guess having you shot would be the only solution if you ever started resisting in a violent fashion. Nonviolent, can;t do anything about that. You'd be free to whine and moan all you want, but noone will pay you any heed. Besides, we wouldn't try to control your thoughts, or I wouldn't atleast. Where did anyone say "I'm gonna brainwash my people and make them all slaves, mwuahahahaha!"?

If I ruled the world,

First I would concentrate on my home America. I would make America, Canada, and Greenland join to become one giant country so that we could pool our wealth and abilities to solve the problems that we as countries face. We would set aside huge tracts of land for a wisely utilized national forest system allowing multiple uses such as logging, hiking, fishing, hunting, etc. We would also stop being the worlds police force, we shouldn't meddle in the affairs of other countries.

Next I would turn my attention to South America and Mexico. I would divide it into 3 countries, modern Mexico being one, the northern half of south america being 2, and the southern half being 3. This would allow the respective legislators from each country to focus specifically on what their country needs. The amazon rainforest would again be set aside as a large multi-use international forest.

Europe would become unified while Russia and the far east would be split not on political boundaries but on cultural boundries. China would become capitalist and it would be joined with the other far east pacific rim countries and indochina. Africa would be divided into North and South and Australia would remain it's own island nation.

The middle east would finally see peace with Jerusalem being set as a world religious center. There would be no official religion because even though I'm a Christian I do not believe in forcing one's religion on another man.

After segmenting the world up each segment would select 10 people to represent them in a unicameral legislature in Geneva. One judge would also be selected from each country, by the people to represent them, in the World court in The Hague. These judges will serve a life term unless they are recalled by the people that elected them. Other smaller courts based on the American judicial system would be set up around the world. These courts would use a singe set of laws handed down from the world legislature.

Some of the laws set down would include. Mandatory eduction to the level of 12th grade. A system of higher education schools would also be set up, including the traditional university as well as high class trade schools to teach the vital skills of industry. The setting up of a world-wide national forest system. The requirement to cut steel use by 50% thereby reducing it's pollution. This would be replaced by wood, the one truly renewable natural resource we have (you'd be amazed what we can do with wood now, can you tell I'm a wood science & forest products major ). Fossil fuels would be replaced by hydrogen fuel cells, solar power, wind power, and water power. An international currency would be developed. Citizens of the world would have the right to a trial by their peers, they would be innocent until proven guilty and they would have lawyers appointed to defend them if they so need. They would also be guarenteed the right to bear small arms including automatic weapons. The automatic weapons would be well regulated just like they are in the United States. An international version of the US National Instant Check System for firearm sales would be implemented, and crime commited with a firearm would be life in prison without parole. A small multinational police force would be stationed in Geneva to ensure safety of the legislature, there would also be sattelite police stations around the world.

I decided to re-write my plan.

--POWERS. I would by King, and have absolute executive powers, have a democratic parliament and supreme court. No civil laws could be declared without my consent and the judicial would be the second most powerful branch. When I die, the people could democratically elect a leader of my descent or my wife.

--EARTH. The name Earth would be the Earth Commonwealth, the capital would be
Constantinople. All of Earths population would be relocated to Eurasia, except for the indenginous people of North America, South America, and Australlia.

--SOCIALISM. I would declare all means of production to be owned by the public. I would ban taxes, and manage welfare in a just and minimal way. People would be educated for the first 26 years of their life, the first 19 being compuslory.

--OTHER. Parents could only have two children, one male and one female. Abortion would permitted upon just cause. Mariage would be defined as a social contract of twop people age 17 and above. Voting, Drinking, Driving, and Drug use would be permitted at age 17.
