Document it, and prove it to the Police?

By talking with the victims. Be careful. They're essentially hostages and their captives are not nice people. They are prone to violence.

How does one identify a victim?

How would you report to the police anything that might approach sex trafficking if you don't have any idea who is the victim? The victim is the one being trafficked for sex. Sometimes its a prostitute and other times its a private slave who is held captive and brought "suitors."

Why are you posing the question in the first place?

This is a ministry you need to be called into.

I am acquainted with someone who ran a secret safe house in a major US city.

Establishing relationship with street folk to the degree that they will trust enough to escape is vital.

Not for the faint hearted.

An unusual amount of men going in and out of a home or place of business like a massage parlor. Why? Is your neighbor trafficking? File a complaint first before you attempt to document.

This is how people get killed by the police. Anonymous, unsubstantiated tips.

THE FOLLOWING SIGNS COULD INDICATE A SITUATION OF SEXUAL EXPLOITATION:
  • Prostitutes may appear scared or intimidated
  • The individual may be transported to and from clients
  • Individuals may be closely guarded
  • The person may be 'branded' with a tattoo indicating ownership
  • Sex workers may show signs of physical abuse, including bruising, scarring and cigarette burns
  • The individual may be unable to keep payment and may have restricted or no access to their earnings
  • The person may have a limited English vocabulary, restricted to sexualised words
  • Multiple female foreign nationals may be living at the same address
  • The person may sleep in the premise in which they work, which could indicate a brothel is operating
  • A property might have male callers day and night who only stay for a short time
  • There may be details of sexual activity such as cards and advertisements found nearby

We had a business that was acting secretly. Like it is no one's business what we do here. The business had lots of guys visiting, not carrying anything in or out. I contacted the State Police who stopped by there.
The Officer in charge told me to avoid them. Three weeks later, they raid that business. It was a group with sex slaves and selling drugs.
