And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.

There are two Hebrew words here: Breath and life. Actually this whole passage is good to study the individual words. There are two words used for God. Words to sacred to put on a post like this. There is also a Hebrew word used for man that is well worth the study. The word ḥay·yāh for life does go back to Genesis chapter one.

We have to study Hebrew to understand the words used in this passage.

Dust of the Ground = Organic Compounds/Nucleobases/Seed
Formed Man = Formed a Genome (Soul)
Breathed into his nostrils the breath of life = Quickening the Genome via the Spirit (Energy/Electromagnetism)

In other words, God created a Soul and Spirit minus the Body. That is why he was 'naked'. He was not clothed with a Tabernacle yet.

When one passes away, their Body returns to dust. Their Soul and Spirit live on until Judgment Day. In other words, they become a 'Living Soul' once again.

Again, the Soul is the Genome. Life is Tripartite. It is the Trinity.

John Wesley teaches if a person were to be eaten by a shark the shark could use our stored energy but the essence of what makes us up would pass through the shark and resurrected at the time we are gathered back together again. Revelation 20:5
