For those who don't know me, I have three adult children on the autistic spectrum. The two older of these live with me here and the youngest is in supported living accommodation on the other side of town - about a ten minute drive from here. He left his job after he moved to his new accommodation and is on the lookout for a new job, with the help of his job coach at the jobs and benefits centre and a couple of team members of The Now Project.
The oldest of the three was in supported living accommodation from 2003 until 2014, when she returned home. The middle member of the trio has always lived at home. The two of them had plans to move into a place of their own, but that didn't happen, initially because the kind of accommodation they were looking for was not available and then because the oldest one started suffering from social anxiety and became unable to leave the house. The two of them have been good company for me since my husband passed away just over a year ago.
