People do not understand the oral tradition that goes back to Moses. That is fine in that we do not teach this in Sunday School. But what we do have is the oral tradition recorded in the Psalms at the time of David. That was 3,000 years ago. 400 years after Moses gave us the first five books in the Bible. So this part of the oral tradition is recorded in our Bible and has all the authority of our Bible.
There are two words in the Bible that all the books in the world can not explain: Beginning and Everlasting. We find them both in the book of Genesis. We also read about everlasting in Psalms and Proverbs.
Proverbs 8 22The LORD created me as His first course,c
before His works of old.
23From everlasting I was established,
from the beginning, before the earth began.
24When there were no watery depths, I was brought forth,
when no springs were overflowing with water.
25Before the mountains were settled,
before the hills, I was brought forth,
26before He made the land or fields,
or any of the dust of the earth.
Moses tells us in the Psalm 94
1Lord, You have been our dwelling place
through all generations.
2Before the mountains were born
or You brought forth the earth and the world,
from everlasting to everlasting
You are God.
3You return man to dust,
saying, “Return, O sons of mortals.”
4For in Your sight a thousand years
are but a day that passes,a
or a watch of the night.
