Name: Edmund Danelea
Gender: Male
Age: 21
Height: 5’10’’
Weight: 162

Appearance: Edmund has a severe, almost sinister look about him. His skin is smooth and white, a stark contrast to his short and wispy black hair. Although he is thin, he is not bony, simply small. His face is long, his nose pointed, his eyebrows thin and arched, and his lips full. His eyes are his most striking feature, pretty and intense in blue. He is left-handed, and on his left hand he has six fingers. Nor attractive or ugly, one cannot help but grant him a second look anyway.

Personality: Outside of Bethany, Edmund is always changing. He is selfish but believes others to be more so; he is untrustworthy but doesn’t trust others himself. He’s a quiet soul, and although he suffers from heavy emotions he is not prone to emotional outbursts, choosing instead to keep them under control and go about things a more productive way.

Background: A short time ago, Edmund belonged to the outside. He was born into strife and death, his mother struggling to bring both him and his twin brother into the world. When she couldn't, his father demanded they be cut out of her womb. What he found horrified him. His sons were conjoined, an oddity that both disgusted and frightened him, and so he sent for a sorcerer in hopes of receiving help through magic. It was almost a success. Although both boys were separated and made whole in their own way, the finger of one had found its way onto the other. Thus, Edmund grew with six fingers on his left hand, and Roland grew with four fingers on his right. It had been kept secret from everyone, including the twins. Edmund was told his extra finger came from a birth defect, and Roland's finger had been lost years before in an accident when he was attacked by an animal. No one questioned.

Not until years later when the subject of the birthright came into play. Edmund and Roland were their father's only sons, both had been born at the same time, who would be given the birthright? As it turned out, Roland was their father's favorite and was chosen as his heir. This hurt and angered Edmund so he sought out someone who might give him answers as to what he should do. A woman by the name of Lottie claimed to be a seer, and told him about what actually happened during his birth. She said it was his right to take over once his father died, not his brother's, and the evidence of this was all in the fingers. When they were split, it was not an accident that Edmund had received Roland's finger. Edmund had taken his brother's finger, she said, from his right hand, the main hand, because he was the stronger of the two. He was meant to hold the birthright.

Convinced, Edmund returned to his family with the intent to take it from his brother. Through deceit, murder, betrayal and banishment, he eventually found himself in Bethany. He remembers none of it now, but is often plagued with the words “so shall brothers be split”, which he repeats to himself quietly over and over again on a daily basis. He doesn’t know what they mean, but only stops to wonder about them occasionally.
