According to a 2013 report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, almost every major study on the issue has found that Americans use their firearms in self-defense between 500,000 and 3 million times a year. There’s good reason to believe that many of these defensive gun uses aren’t reported to police, much less make the local or national news.

I wouldn’t mind being armed in public. But haven’t really seen a crime being committed. With 3 mil crimes being avoided in a year I wonder how long it will be before I do though. That being said, do I really want to get involved in that way and possibly shoot someone and go to court and maybe jail? This state is one of those that penalizes the righteous and the victim. It’s all good to think you are stopping crime and murder and terrorism. But at what cost to the legal gun owner who then becomes fodder for a a confused government.
