In the CCR there were some great events, conferences and gifted prayer groups. Charismatic priests, lay people, conferences, speakers of note from the USA. Like Sr B McKenna, Fr Bob Faricy SJ, Fr Y Indrakasuma, Fr E Tardiff MSC, Fr Peter M Rookey, Fr F MacNutt who got married, Fr R DeGrandis, Linda Schubert, Fr Ken Barker, Fr Faraon.
I recall in the nineties, with Favour Fr Faricy ministering to a full church. Some were called to stand, and as they received gifts like discerning spirits they were pushed back into their seats by the Holy Spirit. And one women receiving inner healing, screamed in agony, Fr said her spirit was broken when she was abused as a child. She screamed for people to stop praying for her. Only when Fr gave the word, did the prayers and screams stop.
In the nineties also in a CCR group in Ashfield in Sydney, there was a young women who passed through and turned out to be bold, firm and corrected a new gifted with tongues brother for boasting of retribution which he thought was God answering his angry prayer, "get him". He after some minutes to accept from her that it was Satan who answered his prayer regarding his dad.
We do see young prayer ministers, but not that many. Do you?
I have seen at the Servants of Jesus quite some youth, some prayers, some marriages, some attenders of Bible College, actually one Catholic.
Maybe marriage and children keeps them busy?
Love of pleasures?
Seeking after wealth?
Scientism weakens them?
Fear of phenomena or deliverance?
The great ones are ageing or passing away, and what comes from their work?
I have seen the most good coming from Toronto's Blessing of the Father's Heart. And groups that accept charismatics and not exclusively Catholics.
They are there, infamous, doing things.
Perhaps the Pentecostal Mega Churches are taking them in with the contemporary style and church party life?
Why so few greatly gifted, even after seeing them take the Spirits power with phenomena?
The broader Catholic church needs inner evangelism!
