• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

This video is good. The only thing i have a problem with is that he still calls himself an addict. I have met so many people that have been sober for so long and some decades that still call them selves addicts. For how long is one an addict who is in Christ. I know that with some it is harder to quit and some inner healing needs to take place before they can finally break free but when the Lord says to call things that aren't as if they are that means if you still battle with it claim it as a victory. I am not an addict i am not an alcoholic i am not a victim, what i am is a child of the most High God. And through him i am perfected by my faith. The bible says that when we come to Christ we are a new creature old things have passed away behold all things have become new. Claim it and keep it.
My favorite verse that got me through my addiction was I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. that means ALL things even become what i wished so hard to be. Clean and sober.
Yes all of us who have participated in the sex industry can and will be forgiven. Even if we have not yet forgiven our selves. That was the hardest part for me. Not only did i do it but allowed my loving wife to also. That was the hardest part for me to forgive myself of. Thank God I am forgiven.

I didn't claim the video to be perfect, just thought it was really nice of my friend to make this for us.

When you say you were part of the industry do you mean you used to work in the industry? Just curious as we don't get many males from the industry on this forum.

My heart goes out to you nautical999. I too am a prostitution survivor. I also worked as an stripper and porn model.

I hope you hang around SOSI more. The men are few and far between on the forums yet I know there are many out there. It's weird when I left the industry almost a decade ago now it seemed there were few ministries for SOSIs. Now there are several, but it seems that the men "talk" less than the women about their time in the industry and seem to reach out a lot less. You will be a blessing to others if you stay around! :)
