But that is just it, I provided you a link showing that it is a right wing board that rejected most "presentations" of climate change; they specifically were looking for "presentations" that didn't criticize our use of oil and gasoline for climate change -- that basically minimized mans effect on climate change. It seems like the book already presented climate change in a non-threatening, we don't know if man is causing the change way. It seems, rather than pull chapters out of books, they should be setting the standards for how they want the information presented and not removing it completely.
Ok. Didn't they do that though by telling the publishers what they wanted and asked them to resubmit?

Why not? Everything I said was totally factual.

Just because you don't like facts, doesn't mean there is not an obligation to teach them.
What facts are you referring to?

Human beings have affected the climate.
If human beings would like to remain on this planet, they may have to take mitigating action because the climate might change in such a way that human beings are disadvantaged for survival.
”Rights and freedoms” won’t count for much then.
I remained unconvinced that human beings have affected the climate in any significant way and I know that no mitigating action will affect it in any way.

Somewhat, some of the books already met their standards and they chose one at some point. Now, that isn't enough for Cy-Fair ISD, they've removed those chapters that the Texas Board of Education made sure had a very conservative presentation, because apparently that is still too liberal for CyFair schools.

Forgive me - but I don't know what you want me to do with this information.

Maybe I am forgetting a question you asked me about it. I don't know.

You keep talking about the presentation -- the "presentation" was from a very conservative viewpoint that downplayed human causes of climate change, particularly oil and gas not being mentioned as a possible cause. So I'm not sure why you keep qualifying that it depends on the presentation; it was a very conservative presentation and the Cy-Fair ISD still ripped the chapters out of the books.

You made statements and shared your opinion.

What "facts" are you referring to?
Well, in an effort to keep a laser like focus on something close to the topic of the op...

Climate change IS an imminent threat that has been caused by the choices of humans over the last 150 years

Weird - it doesn't include the part you quoted.

Anyways - why do you believe that?

Why not take the opportunities to share the evidence when they come?
I feel confident you have already seen evidence and chosen to dismiss it; I'd guess you're a reasonable person who would make their decisions based on information. I'm more curious about what you find lacking given the overwhelming evidence to support AGW.

And you have sat in classes?

What would look like a disconcerting science lesson on one of those topics?
Have you sat in the class?

Have you reviewed the book, actually read it?

If not you are just as qualified/disqualified as the poster you questioned.

I have seen science textbooks. And I have seen the depravity SOME individuals are willing to stoop to to give their ideological influence undue import. Sadly, people who should not have power are using that power inappropriately in trying to hide their children from scientific understanding.

You'll also note I was speaking in the generalities "classes" and not "the class".
