More than 7 million migrants have been encountered by US Customs and Border Protection agents along the southern border since Biden took office in 2021, the latest CBP data show, including 961,537 in the current fiscal year.
Biden, for his part, has repeatedly tried to blame former Trump for fueling the crisis by blowing up the Senate’s bipartisan border security bill earlier this year.

Do you think Joe will make some gesture or excuse, perhaps say he wanted to stop the border crisis but his lawyers said he couldn't legally do it?

If we got rid of every single undocumented person in this nation the economy would be choked of labor.

Look no further than Florida:

About a year ago, Florida Governor- and then presidential candidate- Ron DeSantis passed one of the toughest crackdowns on immigration in the country.

SB1718 punishes employers who use undocumented labor and forbids undocumented people from having a driver's license.

Many local Florida businesses say the new law has led to workers leaving the state that's hurt their bottom line. "A lot of people are scared," says Sanchez. "A lot of people went north and never came back."
...

The Federal government estimates that nationwide over 40% of farmworkers are undocumented.

The Florida Policy Institute estimates this immigration law could cost the state's economy $12.6 billion in its first year. That's not counting the loss of tax revenue.

I have long supported employment enforcement measures -- in conjunction with overhauling our immigration system to ensure we are not undermining our businesses overnight.

Maybe he'll suggest that people are misinformed. From the article to which you linked:

Between the lines: The survey found discrepancies between Americans' perceptions of immigration and the reality established by data.
  • 64% wrongly believe immigrants receive more in welfare and benefits than they pay in taxes.
  • 56% wrongly believe illegal immigration is linked to spiking U.S. crime rates.
Reality check: Individual instances of violent crime by undocumented individuals drive headlines. But data doesn't show that undocumented immigrants are more likely to commit crimes.

Of course illegal immigration is linked to more crime. Each crime by an illegal adds to the count. It would be best if we knew the exact questions asked.

Do you count asylum claimants as illegal immigrants?

By that logic, pregnancy and legal immigration are also linked to more crime. Each crime adds to the count, after all, and more people means more crime.

However, those statistics aren't particularly useful. What is useful is the crime rate - the number of crimes per capita. And on that front, illegal immigrants tend to be better than US citizens.

I've identified myself before as an advocate of government transparency and accountability. The Biden administration has not been transparent or forthcoming on crime statistics for illegals. As to illegals, remember they have told us that the border was safe, secure, and closed. So a reasonable person should be skeptical of what they have to say on the topic. There was an article less that a year ago:

"In 2023 alone, Border Patrol agents have encountered thousands of illegal aliens with prior criminal convictions, including assault, rape, and murder. The true extent of crimes committed by illegal aliens remains unknown because there are also over 1.5 million unaccounted for “gotaways” since Biden’s term began."

A lot of people who come into the country do not commit violent crimes. With a ten thousand dollar debit care, a phone, free health care, and a fancy hotel they are fairly content, although a number are not happy they are not being provided with the proper ethnic food. But there are gang members and other violent criminals released from foreign jails, people from insane asylums, and spies and terrorists entering our country. As to the latter categories, we have not yet felt the effects of radical jihadists or Chinese spies and saboteurs.

I hadn't really considered that minority. Certainly those that do not show up for court dates I consider in the illegal category. I don't mind taking in people who love America and are true asylum seekers. In fact I was sick when the left in our country turned down so many legitimate asylum seekers who were greatly persecuted in Southeast Asian countries--too many lawmakers on the left were ready to believe the communists. But those who take advantage are another story. They are often made aware that the hard left is trying to bring in as many illegals as possible (while they lied and claimed the border was safe, secure, and closed) and liberal states that are going along with Joe, like New York and California, are going to bring them in if they can--so many apply in those states.

You mean they would actually have to hire citizens?.....WOW, what a really bad idea!

The excuses don't matter; they are here illegally.....they need to go.....and re-enter (if they qualify) in the proper manner. Illegal is illegal.....period.

Try to enter Mexico illegally and see what happens to you.

The federal government does not need to provide this information - immigration status of convicted criminals is reported in crime statistics.

The true extent of crimes committed by citizens is also unknown - we can only go by conviction statistics.

And they are not providing it. Realize the Biden administration did tell us the border is safe, secure, and closed. They didn't have to lie to us but they did it anyways.

This is correct. It is the result of 65 million children aborted over the last 50 years. That is one in five. That, together with the anti-children sentiment in the Western world, the population replacement rate in the US has dropped to a national suicide rate of 1.64. Anything below 2.1 means you will begin to experience a drop in population. Japan has a devastating PRR of 1.26. The population of Japan is already dropping. The population will drop from a high of 128 million in 2008 to 87 million in 2070. That is minus 40 million. It will not stop without an influx of immigration, which Japan has never allowed. Increasing the birth rate will not help since they have reached the point of no return in PRR. The point of no return is when there are not enough women of childbearing age to sustain the population. And, of course, as it is pointed out loudly (and correctly), you cannot force women to have babies. America's population would likely do the same if not for the tens of millions of immigrants. These immigrants will be a permanent underclass for generations, created by our immigration policy to sustain our economy and tax revenue. They are slaves without being declared slaves.

I would have to answer the question no if asked, even though I’m in favor of the end result of getting rid of employers making use of illegal labor. As with the wall nonsense mass deportation would be the most expensive, least efficient option. Crack down on employers to the point where it’s not profitable to hire illegal labor and the economic migrants will do what economic migrants do, move to where there’s economic opportunity. Lacking that no matter how large the mass deportation there’s more coming for the now vacated jobs.

I think that starting with Biden and Mayorkas those responsible for bringing in illegals should be subject to hefty fines, the same for employers. Full reverse from the Biden policies (see article below), crack down on those who hire illegals:

What do you feel should happen to those who hire and or exploit illegal labor?

They need to be arrested. But Joe won't do it. He has brought in over ten million illegals and his Justice Department prosecuted less than a dozen employers for hiring illegals in 2023. Instead the Justice Department is focusing on attacking the Trump campaign for president along with Trump supporters. Why they had four attorneys going after Trump and normally they only use two for a murder case! If they used just one than three could have been working on prosecuting more employers. The Senate Democrats won't impeach Joe or any of the officials involved.
