Test With God . . .

"Test all things; hold fast what is good." (1 Thessalonians 5:21)

I see here that God wants us to test everything for what is good and what is not good.

And I understand that God wants us to pray and test things with Him; so this would be in submission to how God has us testing, and we are sharing personally with Him in how He wants us to test things. This commandment means God our Heavenly Father desires to share with us in every thing we are doing and involved with.

This would mean testing how He wants us to relate with each person, who He wants us to vote for, and who to trust in marriage, and if and how He wants us to trust each individual.

So, we can personally share with God, all the time, testing by seeing how He leads us and guides us. Even if something looks good and could be a good thing to do, test by submitting to if God has us actually doing it. And if He does, test for what and how He has us doing it. I keep finding how God has me doing things better than I thought I would be doing them.

And this could go for relationships. I might have a problem with someone. Instead of jumping to conclusions about if I can take care of something with a person, test in prayer for how God would have me sharing and relating and handling something with a person. I can feel stuck, like I have messed up and I don't have a chance to get along with someone or to get things done with someone, but God can take me to the problem person and have things going better than I might have hoped :)

But first in prayer prepare; be ready for love; be a good example for the person.
