Please would you pray for my friend Avril whose husband has just died; for comfort and local support (I'm miles away). I don't know any details; I just received a text asking me to pray for his funeral. I didn't know he was ill or had died, so it has come as a shock. I plan to phone her later so please would you pray for me to say the right things. She believes in God, but I'm not sure if she understands salvation and I don't know what her late husband's beliefs were. Thank you.

Thank you so much faithinlife. I haven't been able to speak to her as her phone goes to voicemail, but I've left messages telling her I was praying. Thank you for doing so too.

Hubby is still in the care home. It was strange having Christmas without him, but my sons did a window visit with him on Christmas Day and I visited him in his room the next day. The reason for the window visits is because the Home had a COVID outbreak just about the end of his self-isolation period. I'm allowed in to visit because I have been made a care partner with the purpose of hopefully persuading him to eat and spending time with him. We went again on New Year's Day and had a WhatsApp video call with his sister and brother, but he was very tired and not much interested in being sociable. That had to be another window visit as some of the residents went to their families for Christmas and one came back with COVID. I hear that sort of thing has been happening in other care homes as well.
Many thanks for continued prayers.

Praying that your husband will be feeling better soon, NIrelandGillian. Praying for you and your family, for health and safety, and for the visits with your husband, or on the video calls. Hope that you and your family have a blessed New Year!

Please would you pray for my friend Dave (the one I said was a bit like a nephew to me). He's a neighbour (or was until this weekend) who has just moved out, as his landlord has sold the house, without saying "goodbye", without a job or home to go to. (He's in his forties.) He does have family or friends who can put him up, but I don't think he has anywhere permanent yet.

In addition he lost his elderly cat on the way to taking him to his father's. Thankfully after a few days he has recovered him, but I don't know in what condition. This has upset me as I was very fond of the cat, who had been a stray and who is very attached to the community here. I cannot have him myself, but others have said that they would look after him, but Dave hasn't accepted that for some reason, even though it is what he originally planned to do.

Please would you pray for Dave's salvation, his mental health (he's been affected by Eastern religions) and for a job and home. Also for his cat - for a long-term home for him and recovery from the effects of being lost for a few days. I think he may have had some injuries. If anything happens to the cat it will probably negatively affect Dave's health.

Many thanks my friends.

I pray for you and friend Dave for strength and guidance from the Lord.
May the Lord bless you in all your efforts.
Thank you so much mp. :)

One answer happened today when the cat turned up perfectly well and I saw Dave who has not finally moved out, as I thought, but is in the process of doing so. I'm thanking God for the cat's safe return and good health. Dave seems well, but still needs a job, home and above all salvation.

I have my husband back in hospital, he had a heart attack and has been quite poorly. I would love to have him back home and keep him comfortable. His cancer is terminal but he might be with us for another 12 months.
Lord have mercy

He came home, then was poorly yesterday and ended up in another hospital. Quite a journey away.
I'm sorry to hear that musicalpilgrim. Is it a specialist hospital? Praying for his treatment, spiritual state and for strength and comfort for you.

it is a very good hospital I believe. Stepping Hill hospital. They looked after him when he had a stroke. He has a few complications, kidney and now some kind of infection which I think he came home with from the last hospital. I am trusting the Lord with him and praying that he will know his presence in hospital. Thank you so much for your prayers.

MP, sorry you and your husband have been going through such difficult trials, but God is with you and you are in His hands. He knows what He is doing and doesn't make mistakes. I pray you will soon be able to have your husband home with you again. May you have a real sense of His presence with you both, whether you are together or not.

My husband is permanently in the care home now and is quite content there, although not eating much. He was in hospital this week for a few days, with an infection, but is back in his bed at the care home and is much better now.

I'm frustrated.
Declining health is no fun. As my body becomes able to do less so does my mind.
There are several neurological, endocrine, musculoskeletal, autoimmune, things happening, and as said, they are no fun.
But what hurts most in heart and soul is a decline in ability to create.
I am a creative person, about half the jobs during the working years involved being creative.
My hobbies all involve being creative.
During the last couple years that ability has taken quite a nosedive.
I do not like that.
At all.

As for health, on Monday one of the folks from Hometown Homecare drove me to the city for yet another neurology appointment.
And as has become the new normal, it went, "Yes, the things happening look like (insert name of various diseases or conditions) but the tests say it is not that, so we still don't know what the cause is. But, hey, let's send you to the lab for them to draw a few thousand gallons of blood, again."
And as usual they had to poke more than one vein before one would give them what they wanted.

Grumble.
Discontent.

A lot of my life has been: don't have health, don't have a job, do have cats, do have hobbies.
Ability to drive myself to the city was taken away in 2018.
And now it seems the remaining hobbies are being taken away.
Some have already been taken away over the last decade.
Having a home has been taken away a few times during my life and almost was last year.
Is having a home going to be taken away again?
Are the cats going to be taken away next?

Song on radio just ended with "Jesus is coming back. Jesus is coming back."

Okay, okay, I get that.

That's the future, the laundry and cooking and housekeeping need to be done in the right here and right now, what if anything, is Jesus coming to do about them?
