"But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts " (Romans 13:14)

Lust is not love, and not a legitimate drive or guide.

God's word says how to relate >

"not in passion of lust" (in 1 Thessalonians 4:5).

With God, we can tell the difference between love and lust, and connect with people in His love >

"with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love," (Ephesians 4:2)

Yes! "longsuffering" will be needed.

In lust we can be weak so we give in to arguing and complaining and emotional trouble, but "longsuffering" in God's love keeps us strong and pleasant so we can handle problems creatively.
