In Arminianism, those in hell can say "God, you didn't effectually save me!"

They have an excuse. God could have saved them, but didn't.

By free will they dammed themselves and therefore not God's doing :)

That is of course assuming there is a hell otherwise let's just say ' the dammed .

Oh yes it absolutely does teach faith is a gift.

Skala,

you write, "They have an excuse. God could have saved them, but didn't"

Aren't you describing Calvinism? God could have chosen them but decided not to?

Maybe Skala's God is not impotent.

I saw the movie, "Noah". Even though lots of Christians protest against the movie, Noah does have a point, humans should not exist cause we're all filthy rags.

This proves total depravity right. I notice most self claimed self born again think they deserve to win tickets to heaven so they boast about it

Actually, I was using anti-Calvinists (read, synerigsts and Arminians of all kinds) arguments against them.

You see, logically, their argument works equally against their own view.

They say "Calvinism is bad because God could save people, but doesn't!"

Yet, they reject universalism, and even they believe that God could save people, but doesn't.

So their argument works equally against their own view. Thy shoot themselves in the foot without realizing it.

Well of course they should exsit , why? because they do exist . .
Therefore it is God's will they exist

The way humans are is because of the way they were made to be with no other alternative ?

You make an intriguing point about the boasting but it is veiwed as celebratory that Jesus Saves .
With no choice in the picture Jesus could not save anyone that was un - savable - it would be beyond his ability to save anyone other then who he must save that God already decided he must save . :)

Heh, would you care to reveal your sources to suggest that Reformed theology teaches that there is "no choice?" Also please include your sources of what Reformed writer teaches that anyone is "beyond his ability to save?"

Do you have any idea why we suggest your making a straw man?

Arminianism - an excuse for those in hell?

rofl

better flip that puppy over and look at the other side!

Calvinism provides an "excuse" for those in hell on the basis of :

"God decreed that I be in hell and there wasn't a damned thing thing I could DO ABOUT IT!!"

Calvinism (and Arminianisn) teach that we all EARNED our place in hell. We teach that God threw us a lifeline and he pulls us to safety, while you teach that you threw the lifeline to him and all he does is catch it.

(Funny that you'd come over here today after your rant on the WP yesterday.)

funny that you even have the audacity to address that -- after your BLATANT RULE VIOLATIONS on WP

I totally reject your twisting of my words that I say that

"I threw a lifeline to God and all he does is catch it"

Please provide

QUOTES OF MY POSTS where I said those words or

GET OUT OF HERE OR APOLOGIZE FOR YOUR

LIBEL

(I'm waiting...)

I meant the collective "you" as in "you Arminians".

BTW, I didn't violate the rules on WP. The pastors there all agreed that was discussing in fellowship and not demanding that they change or even saying that they are wrong. I was actually discussing the commonalities.

MOD HAT ON

After being reviewed, Staff has decided to keep this thread closed. There is way too much flaming in here to do a cleanup.
