We in the United Church of Christ (UCC) are part of the Free Church tradition. As such we are bound by covenant rather than creed and each congregation is autonomous. The Creeds serve as "testimonies of faith" rather than tests of faith.

"The UCC uses four words to describe itself: Christian, Reformed, Congregational and Evangelical. The UCC was formed in 1957 by the merger of two denominations, the Evangelical and Reformed Church and the Congregational Christian Churches.

I agree... I think there is a strong desire to remain united as the body of Christ in spite of differing beliefs that individuals and congregations hold... In other words, there is probably a wider range of diversity in what UCCers believe than in some other denominations.
