Puppies are a lot of work, no matter how sweet and cute they are.
And I'm sure you've already got a lot of work with 2 young boys.

She's a small dog. A dachshund mix (some kind of terrier the vet thinks - we got her from a shelter and her father was "unknown").
She's a really good sport about letting me dress her up.
My parents prefer big dogs. (We live on a tree farm, and we like to hike and walk the logging trails and big dogs are great company for that.)
I have some health stuff though, and when I was younger and very unhappy about having to rest a lot and stay home from things I wanted to go to, they got the dog. She's the perfect size to have inside our small house, and she loves to sit with me or nap with me.
