Hello fellow gun owners. I am looking for a bit of help with a rifle. My mother has passed away and my father had some flintlock guns and a WWI rifle on the wall and I will get them in September. I do not know rifles at all (just being a revolver owner and shooter). I will need to transport it from NJ to my home in MT and am pondering bringing it on the plane. I know I will need it in a locked case if I do that, but I have no idea what the size of the rifle is off hand. I am attaching an image of it on the wall. It is a Springfield Armory model 1903. Do any of you KNOW this model, thus it's size OR where there is a rifle case that is TSA compliant that is made for it/fits it well?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Sincerely,

David

43.3 inches overall length
you just posted the serial number on the internet should the jack booted thugs want to confiscate it.
The flintlocks will probably be longer, perhaps in the 50"+ range

The flintlocks are actually handguns. Will they need to be in a TSA rated case as well? The wood on them is very old and I am sure they are non-functional.
