Introduction

I am fairly new to CF. I just looked under the parenting forum today and found this one. I have a special needs daughter, she is 8. I feel isolated a lot because I can't get out much, I don't have any close friends and my family just doesn't understand. I was so glad to find CF and now I am really glad that there is a forum for parents with special needs kids!! I just thought I would pop in and say hi.

Hello and welcome to CF and to the Special needs kiddo section. My kiddo is 9 and I home school her too, so I do not get out much either. It seems my sister somewhat understands, but she several states away. None of the rest the family seems to understand and since they do not really "get her", they are unable to watch her without us around.

The isolation is rough and one very good aspect of the internet is that it helps a little with that feeling.
