* The dessert at a traditional Christmas feast in Denmark is a special rice pudding with something hidden in it. What is hidden and brings good luck to the one who finds it?
The first course of the Christmas Eve dinner is the traditional rice pudding with a while almond in it. The one who finds the almond usually keeps the others in suspense until all the porridge is eaten. Then he announces the prize triumphantly and claims the reward -- usually a fruit of marzipan.

* What item do people carry as they enter the church for Christmas services in Ethiopia?
Following ancient tradition, each person enters the church carrying a candle, which they light when they get inside.

When do we have to finish the hunt....or is that over now and too late to do it now?
The hunt ended at noon today... but I accepted anyone who had posted by the time I got home from church since we're on different time zones.

It was optional, so it doesn't change anything for the dressup. It is additional.
