My family was career Air Force and I grew up in numerous states and countries. I love ethnic cuisine and The Walking Dead.

Hi, I’m Jason, son of a career Air Force Senior Non Commissioned Officer. I have been in the Military most of my life starting with the Alabama Army National Guard, Active duty Navy, Active duty Coast Guard until I retired, became board with civilian life (no one shooting at me on a regular basis) so have found an replacement for my boredom in the Michigan Army National Guard while I pretend to be a corporate chef and work on my MBA.

I'm Chris. Husband, father, truck driver. I have five kids, three biological and two adopted. We would have adopted more, but age and my wife's health have limited us to the two.

I've been on staff here for the better part of eight years.

I'm TagliatelliMonster who's obsessed by internet privacy so I won't be sharing my real name for various reasons. I loath "social" media and googling my real name will yield exactly zero results, except a few professional things which our not under my control.

I live together with my high school girlfriend and we've been together for 20 years now. We plan on marrying for fiscal and inheritance reasons (because we couldn't care less about institutional marriage for other reasons), someday . We also have a marvelous 1.5 year old son. I love that boy to death.

My hobbies are playing the drums and reading science books. And Xbox. Lots of Xbox.

Professionally, I am cofounder of a software start-up with which we create, distribute and maintain a software product for specialised retail stores.

I used to be “concerned” about internet privacy until a former Coast Guard IT buddy who now works for No Such Agency commented on the curtains in my daughter’s room did not match the rest of the décor and let me see photos that she had been skyping or whatever to her friends two weeks before. Needless to say, other than putting masking tape on my installed webcam, I know that anything that comes into or out of my house is preserved somewhere.

And lacking the choice, I'll disable the webcam directly in the hardware registry and remove any and all drivers it needs to function properly.

I also stay clear of any products by google, samsung, facebook,.. or any other company that makes money by collecting data on me.

But yes, it certainly is an uphill battle these days. A battle that one can't even win probably, unless you simply ban any and all internet technology.

But I'm still gonna try though

David Brin wrote a book, "Earth' It was set 50 years in the future and he commented that it's really hard writing fiction for short time away from the present. One of the little details he came up with was that everything, everything was on the internet. Your privacy was almost guaranteed since there was so much data, you just get lost in it.

I started using the Internet back when user ID's and handles were you "idenity", but have since embraced social media in fact USincognito wasn't even my normal user name in 2003, hence the "incognito" part.

This reminds me of a maddening pattern I noticed with some people in 2004-06 when I was attending JREF Amaz!ng Meetings. I'd start a thread on the forum for folks to post photos of themselves so they would be recognized on sight at the conference. Some would post crude drawings or heavily edited photos. Invariably folks would post after TAM that no one spoke to them and I was always, "if you'd posted an actual photo of yourself instead of s Ziggy cartoon people might have recognized and spoken to you".
