A "ex friend" has started to bully me about my religion. Help would be greatly appreciated

A person who I trusted for 7 years and was one of my best friends has started to mock, tease and make fun of my religion. He also jokes about cancer, 9/11 and ISIS. This has been going on for about 4 months, since my school started back. His friends also join in, which makes me upset on certain days.

Help would be appreciated, as I am starting to a group of long time friends, since they joke and make fun of things I cannot stand for. Thank you in advance.

If I were you I would speak to him. Tell him how important your religion is for you, and how hurting he can be. If he doesn't stop, speak to a teacher you trust. An authority can be welcomed in your case.

Is he doing it just for fun or is he bullying you or something? Are the jokes supposed to be funny in a light-hearted kind of way or supposed to be condescending? It all depends on the tone of the person and how he delivers it. If it bothers you then go tell him and give him a piece of your mind. I'm sure that they'll continue making jokes like that if you don't do something to stop it.
