The scene of January 6th will be nothing compared to the reaction of his followers once they realize they have been conned.
I don't think it will take very long.

Point being. Those two things are not the same at all.
The "GOP required to fall in line with Trump" vs the "DNC required to fall in line with Pelosi." Remind me of how many presidential candidates dropped from the race because Nancy Pelosi encouraged them to. I highly advise you reread the forum rules on "goading." Blessings.

I will stop you there. Because I know that after the botched withdraw, most Afghanistan vets feel like it was a waste of time. Nobody serving in our country right now, who have served and sacrificed for the Afghan people, will look at the results today and think, "Yeah, it was worth losing my limbs and suffering PTSD." This statement only demonstrates how disconnected you are from the veterans.

It was President Donald Trump who chose to negotiate with the Taliban directly, bypassing the Afghan government. What a deal that was.....releasing prisoners, setting time lines, reducing US forces. etc

And here we are again: Trump first engaging Putin, excluding Ukraine. And asserting Zelensky must accept the deal or else....

You mean pointing out your example is no where near close to how Trump actually has a long history of cons is goading?

And I will stop you there. It was Biden who abandoned the terms of the withdrawal and pulled out all military personnel before planning to remove the military assets and American civilians. Basically, he folded his hand even though Trump gave him a Royal Flush.

Multiple administrations share some blame....but the fact remains, when Biden came to office, there were not enough US forces in country to provide security for the exit of US forces -- specifically, to protect Kabul. The treaty signed by Trump and the actions of the Biden administration assumed the Afghan government and military would provide security in Kabal for US forces to exit.

I think it is truly saddening that there are people who hate Trump more than they love their own country in that they wish the world falls onto chaos because they lost an election so they would have the opportunity to say "I told you so." Not a very Christian position in my opinion.

I'm amazed that so many Christians support the party that supports teaching LGBTQ to children, having biological males in girls bathrooms and dressing rooms and having no restrictions on abortion.

Not true. There was absolutely no justifiable reason to pull troops out while there was still U.S. citizens and weaponry in the country. Reconcile it as you wish, but it is just denial in the end.

Let me fix that for you:

"I think it is truly saddening that there are people who hate Biden Trump more than they love their own country in that they wish the world falls onto chaos because they lost an election so they would have the opportunity to say "I told you so." Not a very Christian position in my opinion."

They hated it so much they denied Biden won, said the election was stolen, ruined people's lives for just working at polling stations, and then stormed the capital, beat police officers when not defecating on the capital's floor. Not a very Christian position in my opinion, yet they literally had Christian/Jesus flags with them as they stormed capital, broke windows, trashed the place and tasered capital police.

The fact remains - Kabul was not secure -- as evidence by the Taliban's control of the city and airport. There absolutely were not enough US combat forces in country for what played out.

January 15, 2021
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The number of U.S troops in Afghanistan has been reduced to 2,500, the lowest level of American forces there since 2001, the Pentagon said on Friday.
In November, President Donald Trump's administration said it would sharply cut the number of U.S. forces in Afghanistan from 4,500 to 2,500 by mid-January, stopping short of a threatened full withdrawal from America's longest war after fierce opposition from allies at home and abroad.

In any case, my point was Trump negotiated a treaty without the participation of the Afghan government. How can such an agreement be in the best interest of the Afghan people? And here we are again, Trump talks to Putin and then insist Zelensky accept an agreement that benefits Russia.

Yes. Or else the war in Ukraine can just continue unabated for the next decade and a half.

Well that's what they are doing. They are trying to use the small country of Ukraine for a war of attrition against Russia.

Ukraine can't win, they have neither the manpower or the resources of Russia, who is a nuclear power. Your not going to wear Russia down until they surrender using Ukraine.

By us backing any kind of war of attrition against Russia proper your looking at a 20-30 years long world war where more than just Ukraine is losing lives, but British and French and German people too.

Anyone want to do that for a silly NATO base? I don't think we need NATO in Ukraine if it's going to keep the peace not to have them there.

Plus there's weird cultural stuff over there and I don't suppose we know any more about the culture of these people than they do the middle east people's.

As if NATO has to worry about Russia anyway.

Well, the last thing you'd want to support is 'weird cultural stuff'.

Maybe someone else can find something sensible to say about that. I certainly can't.

I truly do. I watch the news daily and sing to myself, "Happy days are here again, the skies are all clear again! Let's sing a song of cheer again. Happy days are here again."
Let's just hope the decade does not end the same way it did when this song was popular.
