Anything but God, is talked about. Some just want to know you, so they ask ??, about your past life. I have heard about bodily functions & I don't think that has anything to do, with our prayer meetings. If this happens again, I'm not going anymore.

Yeah.... good call. Our prayer meetings are a bit more like church services. Someone heads it up and keeps it on track. It is (or should) be somewhat systematic at first. Pray for those things which the scripture tells us to pray for. Virtually no small talk which inevitably turns into gossip or murrmering. An attitude of prayer should be in place.
It is not just women's meetings.

Our prayer meetings, Bible studies, whatever you might call them, are about half and half. Talking at the beginning, then study and prayer, then talking again. Drives me crazy sometimes. I go to Bible study for Bible study, prayer meetings for prayer, not to hear gossip, etc. I sit through the beginning, but once the actual study is done I take off ASAP. These are men and women together. It happens a lot. I attended Sunday School at another church years ago that was about ten minutes study and the rest gabbing. I finally left it for a senior adult class and felt more in place. If it doesn't feel good to you, move on to something that does.
