What group of folks are you speaking for?
In my second year of college, searching for meaning in life, I began studying the Bible with a Protestant student group. They showed me the gospel of grace and salvation by faith, not by works. This was new to me and I was skeptical. But over several months of studying the Bible, I became convinced that they were right.

I don't think so.Christians
Any church that has Jesus Christ as the head is the true church
Hi Michie, I have read a lot of your posts (or at least the titles) on the Catholic forums. I imagine that you are a wonderful person like my mom was. Keep up the good work. If you are in the US, you must be posting very late at night. For understanding and discernment without prejudice. Nothing wrong with that. You could pray for me as well. I won’t complain.

Yes I post at all hours. We have some illnesses in the family and we are basically always on call. So I post when I can. CF is basically my little spot to retrieve in the calmer moments. Thank you for the compliment. I do not feel so wonderful all the time but I appreciate your encouragement which makes me want to thank you for your kindness. Things like that can often feel like a tall glass of cool water in a cruel desert at times. So thank you. By the way, I’m a convert to Catholicism. I was not raised in it.Hi Michie, I have read a lot of your posts (or at least the titles) on the Catholic forums. I imagine that you are a wonderful person like my mom was. Keep up the good work. I’m agreeing that Christ died for our sins and rose again on the third day. Not twisting it into something that is not taught. We pick up our crosses and follow Him. We do not have no responsibility in our journeys.
I don’t think that’s what this thread is about.I can imagine two types of Jews on the Passover night in Egypt.
Some put their trust in the lamb blood, and just relax and enjoy the night, confident that it is sufficient.
Other Jews are more paranoid and try to help the blood with their works, praying fasting singing non stop to God.
In the end both houses first born are still saved because the blood at their doorpost is sufficient.
That is how I view this never ending argument about faith alone or faith and works for salvation.

The Hebrews were probably smart enough to realize that procuring a lamb, slaughtering it, roasting its flesh, painting its blood on their doorposts, and then eating it with other dishes made according to very strict instructions is a form of work, an action undertaken in order to obey a command of God so that they might be saved.
