The very idea that there might by a cross or some other Christian symbol for a Christian holiday offends them. It;s not like they've had problems before. But that action, combined with a trans proclamation for Easter Day, the raids against pro-life individuals too, all send a message to the people of the country. I suppose we should be thankful they didn't have a drag queen show for the children.
how about they just do away with the eggs and put up monoliths to celebrate the equinox for a few days with no script whatsoever, they can only use words like gah go and gee

Please don't pass along that recommendation to the White House.

Which gospel tells the story of the Easter bunny and Easter eggs? Why would you want Christian symbols associated with pagan fertility traditions?

They are not holding a religious ceremony. No more than putting a giant inflatable Santa in your garden is celebrating a religious event.

Terrible that such an iconic Christian tradition like searching for chocolate eggs has been treated like this. They'll be telling us that there can't be religious symbols on Santa's sleigh next.

What about Santa, San and Saint? Rename San Francisco Sand Frisky.

The fact is Easter is not a Federal or government holiday. It is a day of religious observance.
It is mockery and blasphemy to have a President proclaimed holiday that swipes Christian Symbols, the very name, Easter, and squishes it all together into a secular observance, Transgender Day with Easter Eggs and Bunnies (no Christ or cross allowed, not even the mention)
If Biden meant to have secular "federal honor day" he should have left Easter out of his "separation of church and state" mouth.

He's about as religious a figure as the Easter bunny.

Yeah, it's not a mandated holiday. So the chocolate egg hunt had nothing to do with Easter. It's like you're comlaining about people not treating Xmas as a religious event. I don't know anyone who does.

Tough luck that people consider it a secular event. Feel free to treat it as you wish. Nobody will complain.

Actually St Nicholas is a religious figure.
It is a sad lack in American Education that conflates Saints with mickey mouse cartoon.

Perhaps the WH should not have celebrations for Christmas or Easter when the current president is not Christian.

Biden could proclaim Bacchanalia a federal honor day and leave Easter to the Christians

Note the White House issued a proclamation declaring tomorrow, Easter, as a ‘Trans Day of Visibility’” but bans religious symbols from the Easter egg hunt. They know full well what they are doing, replacing Easter with an anti-Christian message. They have had it with Christians and others who worship God.

That is true. Something is going on here in 2024. At this point, the government should not create new holidays. The US government has to take two steps back. The removal of free speech is becoming an issue around the world, from both sides of the political spectrum. Trump adding secular stuff to the Bible, and the far-left removing the meaning of Easter. It is a crazy world out there

Let's note that the Trans Day of Visibility has been March 31 for 15 years now, this is the first time it happens to fall on Easter. The fact that it happens on Easter has nothing to do with trying to "co-opt" the holiday or any nefarious motives. It just happened to fall on Easter this year. If it makes you feel better, the next time I can see the "Trans Day of Visibility" occurring on easter will be 2086 -- I don't think many of us currently posting will be alive to complain about the coincidence then.

I realized that I forgot to mention that we should get ready for the outrage of Easter next year, since Easter will occur on 4/20, and how "Leftists" are trying to co-opt Easter with drug culture.

Instead of all these "indulge yourself" days such as March 31 and April 20, maybe we should just proclaim one day Bacchanalia and then the many secular ritual days would all be on one day. Maybe in June, aye?

...it's interesting how fragile "Christian" identity is for many in this country. I recall a time when my the church of my childhold discouraged participation in Easter egg hunts as it had nothing to do with the Easter message.

So they ban Easter at the WH. What does it matter to believers?
That's the world. We are not of this world. The egg and the rabbits are both symbols of fertility celebrating the pagan goddess of fertility.
Why not observe the resurection as being the Feast of First Fruits and learn from it.
"Christ our First Fruits".
This gives assurance that we will be raised from our graves incorruptable one day just as Jesus. Or snatched away while still alive.
Why focus on what the world is celebrating?

Yeah, that is true. 2086 is a long time from now. :) I might be alive, unless WWIII happens (age 86 in 2086). But hey, 15 years of existence is relatively recent for a holiday, and almost no one talked about it 15 years ago.
