The dead church that I attended and carried such a burden for - God gave me a vision of "Ichabod" written over the door - which means "The Glory has Left as explained in 1 Samuel 4:22 - does this mean it is too late for that church - or can they turn it around and bring the Glory back.

No, they can't. Only God can.

Have you prayed and asked Him
what you should do?
Yes - that has already been done and what God showed me has already been passed on to the church - God has removed the burden and it is in the hands of the Church now - They said they have been fighting it for 7 years - and were in between pastors, so hopefully they will take back their church from the people that have stiffled the Holy Spirit.

It was a church that we were visiting while looking for a home church and God put an awful burden on me over that church - He brought it about very quickly.

I was just wondering about the vision - if it was too late or if they seek God's Will if it could be turned around.

That church may be “Ichabod” for you, but not for someone else. Who knows? God certainly loves those folks. I believe God wants to turn it around.

Obviously you had a release to leave. I imagine that it took a strong vision for you to come to that conclusion.

It needed to be “Ichabod” for you to have your release.

If God’s glory departs, He can just as easily return.

Please don’t misunderstand, I’m not questioning your vision. It sounds like it is dead on. I’m facing a similar decision right now (and I may be guilty of projecting here)

I’m pretty sure I am going to leave the fellowship I’m attending now. God had to give me a pretty strong vision for me to see that it is time.

The vision however is for me. It’s not necessarily a reflection of what will happen to the fellowship after I’m gone…..

'Ichabod' sounds like the time to leave Sharon:wave: Even rats leave a sinking ship~ dont stay in the place of death!

The glory of the Lord departing, speaks of sins going on in the church, things that are just not right. Things can always be turned around if the people repent!

I remember a housegroup that got into the doctrine that islam was from God and that there was more than one way to God. I felt to leave as well, spiritually speaking that housegroup was dead. Because Jesus is the only way, the only truth and the only life. Without him there is no life, only death. If Jesus Christ is not the foundation, we have nothing to build on! A 'church' that does not build on the solid rock, well they maybe lovely people, but they are going nowhere.

How could it ever be too late for a Church of God? There has to be some good there...

Sorry Sis but "Dead Church" just has such a horrible ring to it...kinda like out of a horror movie or something...
When I say dead church - I mean that the Spirit has been stiffled -

Unless the leadership change Sharon, it might not turn around in the forseeable future.

Prayer can change circumstances and hearts though!

I never thought of it that way - but you could very well be right. But the burden that God put on me for that church was something I have never experienced. It was for a reason - when a lady called me to ask why we did not attend the church service - I told her there was no Spirit there - she told me the whole story and they had been fighting it for 7 years - I was meant to go there for that reason - only attended 4 times - 3 out of the 4 times the burden was so heavy on me that I cried the entired day on Sunday - the 4th day the burden lifted - she called and I reported what the Lord put on my Spirit.

She said she had something to take to the Board now - that no other visitor would tell her what was wrong. None of it was about me - only what God wanted that church to do.
