Epiphany is a word for theologians and over-studied people.
Normal people here call it "the day of the Three Holy Kings!"
The Church calls it Epiphany as well.
Theologians and over-studied people and "professional Catholics" are responsible for the downgrading of the Feast of Candlemas.
In America the 6th of January is called Epiphany
That may be so.
And you have never heard of Caspar and Melchior and Balthasar?
Normal people can see something in the THREE HOLY KINGS - more than in that "Epiphanias" of over-studied professional professors of Theology who look down on normal people.
I’m sorry but that’s just crazy. You seriously believe that? You want to argue about Epiphany? There have been tons of info posted in this thread but if I post it you ignore or disregard it. What is your issue???That may be so.

Oh don’t worry about it. Seriously. This is more than odd.I am done with this, you act as if your holier than anyone else because you dare to be an over studied person while we are regular folk. Goodbye

I don’t know but whatever the problem is, it’s their problem to own. Not ours.Yes it is. I am sorry about almost losing my temper, I am trying to not give into that but sometimes I do. Maybe this person is trolling or maybe they believe silly things![]()
I have no issues with it. I do have issues with someone ignoring info given concerning Epiphany and then going on to make accusations that it is a product of over educated, professional Catholics, etc. Why should it matter to your friend if people end it on January 6? Many celebrate with the Church. Please everyone, hold your horses. Honestly, is this really worth fighting over? I mean, honestly... Fighting over Christmas and when the season ends?
This thread invited different opinions, thus different perspectives should be accepted and appreciated.
Does it really matter if someone celebrates the season until february?
(A side note: posted under a new nickname. Kind regards from the former Stabat Mater)

But arent they? I mean, if they celebrated short it could be seen as more troubling, but to keep on celebrating the season until february makes no issue the way that I see it. As Christians we're told to live in the Christmas and Easter spirit the whole year for our entire life. I honestly fail to see how a longer season to comemorate Christmas and even Easter could possibly be an issue.
Nobody has any issues with it except the op. Nobody has degraded anything concerning Christmas as the op inferred among the other things that was being displayed here. The jab at others is one I dont appreciate, the church says what she likes and that's within her mandate. Theres no fancy 'theologians etc", but an official calendar for the universial church. The one whom decide not to follow that calendar is the one who needs to defend their choice, not the other way around.
Bottom line, celebrate for as long as you like. That being said the need for justification (if anyone is needes) rests on the shoulders of those deviating from church calendar as of 2022.
